Figured I'd make a topic on this to let those who don't know, know.

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have recalled left wing Darren Archibald from the AHL Utica Comets.

Archibald, 24, has recorded 21 points (10-11-21) and 65 penalty minutes in 44 games with Utica this season. The Newmarket, ON, native has also played in 11 games with Vancouver, recording two assists.

The 6’3”, 204-pound left winger was originally signed by Vancouver as a free agent on December 13, 2012.

Vancouver, BC – The Canucks announced Monday morning that they have recalled Left Wing Darren Archibald from the Utica Comets.

It’s suspected that the recall was due to Daniel Sedin being unable to travel with the team after being injured in Sunday’s Heritage Classic against the Ottawa Senators.

According to TSN :

“TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports that forward Daniel Sedin is scheduled for an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of a leg injury. Dreger says that the injury is not believed to be knee-related and there is no clear timeframe for his return.”

Archibald has 2 assists in his 11 games played for the Canucks this season and 21 points in 44 games for the Utica Comets this season.
