*Luongo-1*
Santo was definitely one of our best forwards before he went down. Not saying he was the main difference in our lineup, but very influential for us in key situations. Do we know what our record is with / without him in the lineup? I'm pretty sure we haven't been very good when he's not playing... but I hope he is one of our priorities to resign! Also, moving forward ...do we really expect to win a cup with the Sedins by 2018? They're not getting any younger, and we're sure as sh*t not getting any better. I know it's most likely not going to happen, but is there any possibility they get moved? Not with MG ...but I feel a new GM could have a different vision...
GODSRAGE
I can see a big youth movement going into next season. Sedins will probably play a second line role, and hopefully our young guys will fill in the top line role by 2018.
gunshygillis
With all due respect to santorelli but if anyone believes that him going down ruined the season, this team's problems run really deep.
TheRussianRocket.
I think this is what will happen with Santo: We already have Matthias and Richardson signed through next year so that's our 3rd and 4th line centre already covered. I feel Santo will only be extended here if Kesler is traded at the draft to replace him or if Kesler stays and Santo takes a hometown discount to stay here. Other than that, don't see anything else we can do with him. Already have lots of 3rd line players signed so signing another (Santo - a solid 2nd liner but not legit) will only make us stuck. If Santo wants $2 mill, he won't be signed. Needs to be cheap if Kesler stays so we can add more through FA but if Kes is gone, I can see Santo replacing him for $2-$2.5 mill. It did, partially. He was the most used player by Torts and did everything. Hardest working player and did everything right. Then followed the other injuries and the rest is history where we stand. If you don't believe injuries were the reason: look at the month of December. Undefeated. After, the fell.
Hunter.S-Kerouac
I would like to see him back. Matthias could be great with Kes on the 2nd which would leave Santa to play on the 3rd or back with the Sedins where he looked good

Yes, but for it all to fall apart when a guy who was more or less a waiver wire pickup goes down says something. And injuries are something that every team deals with. It really puts your team's depth to the test. If anything, Gillis and co. should be glad that this happened because at least he can tell himself and everyone else that is what got the team in this position.
