Massive High School Hockey Hit - Lincoln vs West Salem - Semifinal 2014

...that's hockey folks...or at least what it used to be. That hit in the NHL = penalty, game misconduct, fine, and suspension. Sad that highschool hockey can get it right but the league can't. Well, it's just the way things are now I guess. Sigh, I miss those types of hits..

IMO, that was illegal. No need to go head hunting.

Guy didn't really try to hit his head, just ended up getting that part. And should learn to keep your head up. If I'm a dman and an opposing team player is coming down 1-on-1 with his head down, how are you supposed to hit him? Can't crawl underneath his chin/head and specifically get his chest or w/e and surely there's not enough time to think in a moment like that.

You win this round! That video reminded me of how great that series was.

That series was terrible. Outside of the violence the Sabres destroyed the Flyers in the actual games.

The dman either hits him or he lets him skate by, the player with the puck is the fool who lowers his head thinking he can pull it off.

Of course he has to hit him its how he hits him thats bad. Derp.

If he is a forward-facing target and he can get hit, you go for the hit. You do not jump and have the shoulder make contact with the head.

I can't make my own conclusion watching the video, but some people will call this a jumping headshot.
