Does Everyone Still Hate Botchford?

No, not at all. Why dafug would we hate him? Because he's the most positive, smart, accurate, and trustworthy of all the reports out there. Your on crack if you think he sucks.

Don't make him sound like a messiah haha.

Never hated the guy, we choose to read the things put out there by the media. If you don't like him, don't read his articles. Quite simple really. I personally tend to disagree with most things Botchford says but the guy is not an idiot.

He's an awful journalist

Pretty much that. We have horribly crappy media here in general and he's at or near the bottom of that disgusting, rotting barrel.

I don't "hate" him though. Just think he and most of his cohorts are godawful at their profession, him especially so

You do know that every town thinks their local media is the worst out there right?

I think that's a pretty broad generalization that you in no way can back up.

I also never said we have the worst. I just said they are crappy. I'm sure there's many cities with even crappier media. Does't mean our isn't also crappy.

^This.

OP, are you a relative or something? Or are you just trying to decide what the popular opinion is to follow?

haha neither. As I said in the OP, I'm just curious. Last year it seemed every thread in CT turned into a bash AV or Botch thread and I haven't seen much vitriol sent his way recently(but I haven't been on the boards much lately).

His point of view is too over the top.

All he does is poorly try to stir the pot.

Almost every article is written in bullet form like this.

No substance.

Rarely factual; just opinion.

Mostly grandstanding and chest thumping.

I wouldn't be upset if he faded into the background but that's wishful thinking.

Botchford...

Sensationalism is a type of editorial bias in mass media in which events and topics in news stories and pieces are over-hyped to increase viewership or readership numbers.[1] Sensationalism may include reporting about generally insignificant matters and events that don't influence overall society and biased presentations of newsworthy topics in a trivial or tabloid manner.[2][3]

Some tactics include being deliberately obtuse,[4] appealing to emotions,[5] being controversial, intentionally omitting facts and information,[6] being loud and self-centered and acting to obtain attention.[5] Trivial information and events are sometimes misrepresented and exaggerated as important or significant, and often includes stories about the actions of individuals and small groups of people,[1] the content of which is often insignificant and irrelevant relative to the macro-level day-to-day events that occur globally. Furthermore, the content and subject matter typically doesn't affect the lives of the masses[1] and doesn't affect society, and instead is broadcast and printed to attract viewers and readers.

Did you see the thread in Canucks Talk on his latest article? You're timing to find out couldn't have been better.

Now I know you are trolling

Nope, that would be a classic example of sarcasm.
