missioncanucksfan
Great read this morning on what could be coming soon, but who would replace them Coaching candidates; John Stevens Kevin Dineen Kirk Muller Brad Shaw Mike Johnston just to name a few a few I wish to add to that list are ; Marc Crawford- knows the Sedins and their capabilities better than most incoming coaches, Knows the city, expectations and quite frankly in the end his core players(Jovo, Ohlund, WCE) were just beat up and sacked. Bringing back Mike Johnston as his assistant would be just as beneficial as he seemed to know how to run a pp better than most assistants since he left. Peter Laviolette- employs a take no crap approach but also knows how to motivate and develop. I credit him for developing Couturier into the 2 way defensive force he has become. Could be beneficial to incoming centers such as Gaunce and Horvat.
Canuck or Die
What the hell are they going to do? AV couldn't get them going, now it's Torts. How are any of them going to fix a broken team? Seriously, I want to know. People seem to think a coaching change can fix anything.
4thLineGrinder
torts has been here 8 months, our problems have been around a lot longer than that. I don't think he will get fired. It's a process

tortorellatheboss
Tortorella won't be fired. Gillis will be the first to get fired. I'd say Tortorella has a 2-3 year cushion. Especially when you look at how the Aquillini's would have to pay him out 8 million...I mean we're talking about guys who were reluctant to buy out Ballard's 4.2 million contract. VanGnome
I'd have to put my money on Laviolette, I'm actually quite surprised that he was passed over for Tortorella. He's got a proven track record, and can deal both with veteran AND young players, and get the most out of them.

apollo
I always liked Ted Nolan............ just heard on tsn last night that he's close to signing an extension. He'd be out of the question I guess.
canuck2288
Not Sullivan...he is clueless and it is clear that the players have no use for him Clearly he is Tort's wingman and simply follows him around. I was shocked the Canucks put him as coach when Torts was supended. Poor choice and it cost the team. Pack your bags Sullivan, you are leaving with your pal....and take Gillis with you
Warhippy
Torts getting fired is about the stupidest thing that could happen. The single common denominators are the core of the group and the management group. Firing coaches does what again? Edmonton fires their coaches yearly, how are they doing again? firing Torts is about the dumbest thing that could happen. Torts excels when he has vets and solid youth in the group. All he had to go off of with this core is a non producing veteran top line, a bunch of injured 20 somethings and D core and NO youth Keeping Torts around for another season is not the worst thing to happen
Baka
John Stevens xD I miss his antics as the Flyers coach. He is the exact opposite of Torts. Probably the calmest coach in the NHL. He literally would take the Flyers roster on field trips for team building. He even had them all bake a cake together while explaining that hockey is like baking a cake and the players are the ingredients that must come together xDDDD

skyfall
I'd have Gulutzan on speed dial as an interim coach and wait for better replacements later. None of those names appeal to me. Sullivan is too similar to Torts and the team did poorly when he ran the show during Tort's suspension so I would count him out. I still think Torts was needed at the time to change the mentality of the team from AV's soft approach to more hands-on, honest and direct approach but it's too extreme. I'm down for a coach who will used advanced stats, let the players play for each other but also step in immediately with the right adjustments when they're needed. My concern with Gulutzan is that he will not be taken seriously because he looks like a little boy but that's why you make him an interim coach first to see how it goes. TOMapleLaughs
Has anyone even looked at this team on paper recently and compared them to contenders? We are not even close, folks. Our inept drafting/scouting/development has failed this team once again.

AllHailSmyl
If they're going to fire him, do it on the night they induct Pat Quinn in the ring of honour. Quinn can be coach for the remainder of the season.
