GILLIS - TSN INTERVIEW

*Luongo-1*

Recommended Posts

The team has been dealing with "distractions" all year, and Gillis doesn't help them in any of his interviews. You know its a problem, when your players have been mentioning throughout the year, throughout the luongo debacle and now with the kesler thing, to the torts firing. lack of communication, and team players and upper management clearly aren't on the same page.

He's treating the guys on the ice like pawns.

He almost went through the whole interview without saying the word process lol. Time for change(getting younger) seems to be the new statment. I'm good with change as long as it's a significant one at this point for this hockey team. We need an infusion of young talent moving forward.

Maybe that's a metaphor for Mikes beard. Just a big hairy distraction.

I think we can all agree with at least one thing Gillis said, and that is this is a tough time for everyone who cares about this team.

When you stand back and consider what is an appropriate time to make a significant change, during the last 20% of the season is more like a knee jerk reaction than a thoughtful business decision.

But realistically, what do you expect him to say? "Yes, I really have no idea what I'm doing, but the money's good"; "Yeah, Torts is a friggin' idiot I don't know what we were thinking - one more slip up and his donkey is grass"; "Kesler is a dufous - of course he's out of here first chance - but he'd better keep working hard until then, just in case"; "I really couldn't care if we win the Stanley Cup - it's just fun to read reactions on CDC all day long"????
