A thank you note to Calgary and Anaheim.

Alas much is going on in Vancouver. The untradable juggernaut of a contract is gone in favor of a combined goaltending salary of $1,950,000.00 which incidentally, comes with a combined 74 games played at the NHL level.

Welcome to the new Era. An era where Canucksland is looking for the blood of whoever is responsible for this total fiasco. Tortorella was supposed to be fired some time this right about now, but isn't. Gillis was supposed to trade Kesler, yet Kesler turns out he's been the only one up for work since the Olympics. Now fans want Gillis' head on counts of mismanagement of assets from the Hodgson trade to the Schneider returns.

A record 7 goals against, third period doesn't help any either, especially against an Islander team that Kesler calls: "Not one of the best teams in the league". Suddenly, Gillis is dodging questions regarding such matters as the Tortorella possible firing, meddling from the top and possible blocks from ownership against a Kesler trade.

Then comes the 7-2 Calgary win against Anaheim. Literally the worst of the league winning against the best of the league. Of course, in good hockey fashion, media will talk about it for a day, maybe two, but Canucksland will look at that one 3rd period against a lowly team as the end all be all fate that is a seemingly sinking ship.

I would just like to thank the Calgary Flames for scoring seven goals against the top two team in the league, and I would also thank Anaheim for not showing up and losing to the Calgary Flames on this fine evening.

Even though the seven goals were scored throughout three periods and the Canucks gave the Islanders a 1978 flashback for that seven goal, third period, it still eases the bast taste I had in my mouth post-seven-goal-1978-record-breaking-total-implosion time I had a couple of days ago.

I for one, will see that one, seven goal 3rd period as something to forget as fast as possible; the Calgary-Anaheim game showed us that games sometimes go very wrong.

Next, Washington.

I don't understand your post at all.

You go from babbling about Canuck Nation wanting blood to something about the 7 goals that shouldn't have happened?

And just to clarify, you want the Canucks to win in a lost season where we're likely not making the playoffsand or if we sneak in we'll be swept in the first round AGAIN. And you still want this even if we'd then lose our shot at a top 7 pick?

Thanks for sharing your limited hockey IQ with us.

Thanks to the Flames for showing us how NOT to rebuild: finishing high enough for a non-impact draft pick and low enough so you stay a bad team for a very long time. Maybe trading away Luongo and putting Lack in net with no real back-up was MG's way of tanking the season?

When will people understand there's no NHL team that will deliberately tank on purpose for the sake of a good pick? It just doesn't happen anymore. Whether chances are slim to none, the Canucks have to push for a playoff spot. You don't just throw it in with 15 games left in your season.

I know you might've been joking, but some people on here actually want this team to tank on purpose.

It won't happen.

Tell that to Oilers fans. Three 1st overall picks just isn't enough for them.
