DonaldBrashear
I was looking through my garage today and found this. Haven't seen it in a long time. I remember collecting these things back in 93-94. Collected the whole thing and couldn't find a gold coin, only to stumble across a Trevor Linden gold coin which was the ultimate one back then! Wondering what this is worth now-a-days. Probably $10 like everything else Canucks... too bad they didn't win the cup!

-DLC-
I have the set tucked away too...I believe they were sold at 7-11 individually...kind of remember showing up there at 4 AM when the "new" one was out. Or they may have been random...I remember they were in a foil wrapper. I collected all the memorabilia back then...have it all stashed away in suitcases. The Olympic binders from Shell. All the old team/hockey related stuff. It is cool to pull it out and dust it off every once in awhile...memory lane stuff.

Grapefruits
That would be cool to have, closest any Canucks team has come to winning the cup. I'm sure there is a collectors market for it. I'd love it as part of my collection. Looks like someone was trying to sell the set for over a grand: http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/24-set-Vancouver-Canuck-93-94-coins_19452483 Looks like these might be from the set: http://www.centericecollectibles.com/index.aspx?SetName=1993-94%20Vancouver%20Canucks%20Coin%20Collection%20Two I could see it being worth $50 bucks or more. Down by the River
When I was about 16-17 I sold off a ton of hockey cards. Really regret it. Hold on to your memorabilia, it will never sell for more than what it is worth to you.

They were sold at 7-eleven I believe. They came individually wrapped. I remember you could buy the book for like $10-15, and then each coin was like $1 or $2 or something like that. The coins were totally random and so you'd have had to bought tons of coins to fill a book. I believe the set was limited to 500,000 coins total. It was so popular that they came out with a 2nd book (with updated players) later on. The gold coins were super rare actually...In fact... thinking back, I remember there were complaints that the company made the whole set too rare. I think of the 500,000 coins, only 1 out of 24 was a gold coin (which would make sense, since there's 23 coins in the set plus a gold coin). That meant there were only 905 gold coins of each player (out of 500,000). So you had a roughly 1 in 552 chance of getting a gold coin for a certain player. Everyone wanted the Trevor Linden or Pavel Bure gold coins and there weren't enough.Brings back fun memories!

That was like the golden age of hockey... everyone has an upper deck set! And worst of all was there were no printing limits. Aren't even worth the paper they are printed on. Too bad they weren't limited edition like most hockey card sets today.
