Draft pick swap

Recommended Posts

More of a question than anything.

Do you think that if the Canucks end up with the 7th or 8th overall pick, would it be worth doing the following?

Vancouvers 2014 - 7th overall + Vancouvers 2016 first rounder

Trade for

the 2014 - 3rd or 4th overall and 2015th 2nd rounder

It is a risk, but by moving up we condense our picks into the next 2 years, and give us a shot at

either Dal Colle or Draisaitl who are thought of as 1st line centers. The risk is we tank in 2016 and loose a gem. The gain is, we get a top 3 or 4 this year and our 2015 1st and 2-2015 2nd Rounders.

This also moves us closer to filling our our first line 1 year earlier, while the Sedins are still here.

Would Edmonton, Florida, islanders or Calgary do it? And would it be good for us?

It's a little confusing, but look at the trade part, if I didn't quite explain it right. Thanks!

edmonton may move their pick for say edler if Ekblad is gone by the time they draft becuase the last thing they need is another forward, they just singed RNH and ganger long term

I'm sure they could get someone better than Edler for the 2nd overall pick...
