AppleJack
Felt weird seeing Lu in that jersey but I am really optimistic about our future. Jensen is showing that an infusion of youth is just what our team needs! Really liking how this kid plays,
Nino
It's nice to finally play a goalie we can beat.
TOMapleLaughs
PGT. But if the future consists of not being able to hold a lead against one of the worst young teams in the NHL, then why are we gleaming about it?
Down by the River
PGT.But if the future consists of not being able to hold a lead against one of the worst young teams in the NHL, then why are we gleaming about it?Because as kids like Bo, Jensen, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Corrado, Lack, Markstrom, etc., develop, we will stop giving up leads. Duh.

LuongovsTuuka
PGT.But if the future consists of not being able to hold a lead against one of the worst young teams in the NHL, then why are we gleaming about it?When you win a game with most of your top talent either on the IR or playing hurt, it's a good sign. They won't make the playoffs this year, but games like this are something Jensen can build on heading into the next training camp and beyond. xWCMx
Oh. That in fact was very clearly illustrated by the pic in the OP. Sorry. That's why it's called "the future" and not the "right now".
-DLC-
Meh, personally, I still can't shift from a bit of sadness to instant joy when Lu is scored upon/loses. I like him and want him to succeed, just not against us and of course this was the desired outcome but I'll celebrate the win, not beating Lu. While I've already forced myself to put Lu in the past and I am excited about our future, it's a bit of a transition and not a light switch event for me. It'll take me awhile to get over losing Lu...he's been a huge part of this team/city for some time now and I always feel it's like losing a friend. Loved his sense of humour, the fact that he was a poker player and how he was a superstar goaltender that we had the good fortune of acquiring. I have fond memories of Lu...you take the bad with the good, you don't hone in on it and make him the enemy. On ice, sure, but once it's over it's handshakes, respect and admiration. So while this is a great picture for the purpose you've mentioned, I'm still getting over the shock of it all. Moved on, but don't really have Lu archived yet. And its about competing! In spite of adversity in the game, its great that we're not taking up a losing mentality.Hey, we're not that great right now either. Finding a way to win right now, any way, is good for us!

However, I think the OP's suggesting through a picture something about the next generation of Canucks kicking the old one out. Fair enough, it's inevitable. But the rest of the non-Luongo core is still here. What are we saying about them?
