Outsiders
To see the scoring spread out a little next year what to you think to separating the Sedin's? Yes or No. First take a look Burrows-H.Sedin-Jensen (UFA)-Kesler-Kassian D.Sedin-Horvat-Santorelli Matthias-Richardson-Grenier Trade Higgins and Hansen Thoughts? Xbox
Odd timing considering Daniel isn't playing but I agree. Henrik on the 1st line with Jensen, Daniel on the 2nd with Horvat.

I change my mind about this all the time ... in a perfect world the twins play together and give you the best second line in the game .. we will never win a cup if they are our 1st line .. thats what i think anyway .. always have .. King Heffy
Henrik's a different player without Daniel. I really hope Daniel can come back strong, but I thin the Keith cheapshot has permanently messed him up. He's a 2nd liner at best the way he was playing this season. I'd like to see the twins split up even strength but together on the PP. And no more PK duty.

TimberWolf
I would try Daniel on the second line first (Unless we can scoop up another power forward) but overall I would agree with a split.

UFCanuck
Keep them together when we're playing well and split them up when the team is struggling. Pretty much what Torts did this year.

Yes or No. First take a lookBurrows-H.Sedin-Jensen(UFA)-Kesler-KassianD.Sedin-Horvat-SantorelliMatthias-Richardson-GrenierTrade Higgins and HansenThoughts? There's a 19 year old rookie playing centre on the third line while you have two legitimate third line centres playing out of position, traded the strongest work ethic on the team and kept a guy who probably already wants to go, and you've got him playing on a line with a guy he thinks is a dummy, and some UFA while Sedin is relegated to the third line to replace Booth? Daniel Sedin on the third line! Why would you not use Sestito and Archibald on the 4th line? Who will that magic (absurdly overvalued) UFA be?Projecting possible lineups is a waste of time and irrelevant, but for those that must typically they spent more than the time required to type in order to think about it and realize the lotto/roulette assignment approach is not gonna work.Split the Sedins by all means but forget the other stuff. Shamu101
I don't see Daniel winding up from the 1st to the 3rd line just cause he and Hank aren't really connecting It would be the best if we put him with Burr and Hank that way he and his brother can get it going
Cold Hard Truth
Daniel should be on the Comets 2nd line next year.
MANGO
have been saying this for 2-3 years now....but lets see what the off season brings us.
fanfor42
Almost every post agrees with the OP. Interesting. I think that Henrik is still arguably a first line center but unfortunately Daniel is no longer a first line player. I tend to agree that salary notwithstanding, he is probably producing at a 3rd line level with the hopes of being a second liner. So ya I think the OP is correct with respect to Daniel. The other stuff is debatable. Kesler will be gone - he wants out and he will be traded. Hansen may be moved as he hasn't produced this year. Higgy has been good value so will likely stay. Angry Goose
Henrik's a different player without Daniel. I really hope Daniel can come back strong, but I thin the Keith cheapshot has permanently messed him up. Don't give up your day job. But I agree with the OP that Daniel on the 2nd line makes sense. Hank is a better distributor of the puck flanked by 2 speedy wingers. He needs guys with top end skill. Daniel (and Hank says it himself) is still a better play-maker than scorer IMO, but he can do both pretty well. I'd like to see some line experimenting to see who he has chemistry with. CanucksSayEh
Danny doesnt pass well, doesn't score well, doesn't skate well. Just a dud out there. I struggle to write his name in lineup suggestions, just because he kills the other 2 he's with. He dragged Kesler and Hank both down this year. elvis15
Ah Outsiders, already looking to next year since you decided early in the season to stop watching games (I still have the quote). Sadly, you didn't see the two line up threads from yesterday, or the three that made those redundant from earlier in the month. Yesterday: 2014 lineup projection Line-up looking past this year ( we r not making a run this year, let it go!) Earlier: lineup for next season? (March 9) The Future of this team and the direction it is going (March 6) Fill the lineup next year (March 5) "Oh, but this is about the Sedins!" Sure it is. Luongo4life14
After watching the Canucks for the last 17 years, it has become truly frightening to read the CDC postings. How could anyone truly believe that the solution to our offensive struggles is to separate the twins? If you remember that genius of a coach Toolorella tried that earlier this year, talking about how he thinks that it is great to have the Sedins learn to play without one another....that worked out well didn't it? The Sedins are NHL elite offensive players, when they are together and not playing for a washed-up pre-lockout era coach. Stop enabling the situation. Get Gillis and Tortorella out of town. The Canucks have had two of the most lethal first lines in the history of hockey, no thanks to Gillis or Tortorella. West Coast Express: Nazzy, Tuzzi and Morrisson The triplets: Hank, Dank and Burr. Forget about this ridiculous youth movement and splitting up two of the most creative hockey players in the history of the game.
