The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the Canadian Hockey League playoffs are ready to get rolling. There is no better time of year of you are a fan of junior hockey in Canada, and this year the Canucks have a handful of prospects that are in the hunt to raise the prestigious Memorial Cup trophy two months from now in London, Ontario. OHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Oshawa Generals (1) vs. Mississauga Steelheads (8) Prospect: Cole Cassels, Oshawa Stats: Cassels, who finished the season with 73 points (24-49-73) and 90 penalty-minutes in 61 games, had four assists in four games against Mississauga this season. OHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals North Bay Battalion (2) vs. Niagara IceDogs (7) Prospect: Miles Liberati, North Bay Stats: Liberati, who finished the season with 13 points (9-4-13) in 65 games, had two goals and one assist in four games against the IceDogs during the regular season. OHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Kingston Frontenacs (3) vs. Peterborough Petes (6) Prospect: Evan McEneny, Kingston Stats: McEneny finished the season with a solid 42 points (7-35-42) and 78 penalty-minutes in 61 games. In six games against the Petes this season, the blue-liner had five assists. OHL Western Conference Quarterfinals Erie Otters (3) vs. Saginaw Spirit (6) Prospect: Dane Fox and Brendan Gaunce, Erie Stats: Fox racked up a remarkable 64 goals and 107 points in 67 games this season to go along with 122 penalty-minutes and a plus-46 rating. In four games against the Sprit, the sniper had two goals and three assists. Meanwhile, Gaunce, who set a new career-high with 72 points (31-41-72) in 65 games, had two goals and two assists in three contests against Saginaw this past season. OHL Western Conference Quarterfinals London Knights (4) vs. Windsor Spitfires (5) Prospect: Bo Horvat, London Stats: Horvat had Windsors number this year, posting 11 points (4-7-11) in six games against them, en route to setting a new career-high with 74 points (30-44-74) in just 54 games this past season. Horvat and the Knights have a bye to the Memorial Cup as London is the host city. WHL Western Conference Quarterfinals Portland Winterhawks (2) vs. Vancouver Giants (7) Prospect: Anton Cederholm, Portland Stats: Cederholm had a solid rookie campaign posting 16 points (4-12-16), 95 penalty-minutes and an impressive plus-42 rating.
