first 5 choices were teams that reportedly he would go to, i also think this list will expand if he truly wants to get traded that is why i added an "other" option

Interesting Assets

Pittsburgh: Pouliot, 1st round pick, bennet, matta

Detroit: nyquist, mantha, jurco, tatar, sheahan, 1st round pick

Philly: coturier, B.schenn, hagg, 1st round pick, laughton, morin

Anaheim: etem, 1st round pick, 1st round pick (ott), silferberg

Colorado: 1st round pick, o'reilly

Any deal with Flyers has to include Couturier as center piece. If they aren't willing then no deal.

I'm surprised Sutter was left out for the list of assets for Pens. You can bet they will offer him and that same crap deal again or something very similar to it.

Why would they move Couturier? Basically the same production and better +/- in less mins/game, has more ES points, almost 10 years younger, less cap, etc...

@Drouin

Ohhhhhhhhhh assets? In that case...

From philly? Giroux and Simmonds are pretty interesting "assets"

Pittsburgh can offer up Crosby and/or Malkin, they'd be great assets for out team.

Anaheim would have to give up Getzlaf, Perry

Colorado has Duchene and Mackinnon, they'd be nice.

Bottom line is that the word "asset" is so broad. OP should be more clear

They've coveted Kesler for long time. Bobby Clarke signed him to offer sheet in 2006 which of course was matched. If they want him, Couturier must come back the other way. That simple. Settling for Brayden Schenn doesn't get it done, nor should it and he's not fair market value for Kesler. I'm sorry.

Because Kesler brings more to the table than points.

I don't think people fully respect the shut down center that Kesler is...

He is definitely one of, if not the best defensive forward in the league. He is a monster in the face off circle and on a clicking PP can score 40goals in a season.

Exactly. Kesler is also former Selke winner.

It was extremely obvious what OP meant. Stop.

As does Couturier.. I don't think you respect how good of a 2-way player Couturier is.

McKenzie said it himself that PHI would be more inclined on moving Schenn rather than Couturier.

He may be a monster on the faceoff dot, but there are a ton of players in the league better than him. He's 16th in FOT, 13th in FOW.

What if you're PP isn't good? Will he score 40 goals then? Couturier has MORE even strength points than Kesler.

Exactly. Kesler is also former Selke winner.

I don't get this crap.. what does being a former Selke winner have to do with anything?

I believe it was pretty clear.

Sure those are interesting assets, but they aren't realistic. You know that as well.

Instead of looking foolish, do yourself a favor and stop posting.

Says the guy who thinks +/- is a valid stat and can be used in an argument.

How is it not a valid stat? Still doesn't take away anything else I said.

It's also funny how that's the only thing you brought up. Guess I was right.

He probably wasnt on the list because it is interesting assets not overpaid and underwhelming assets
