I wonder if we could grab a pick or two if we threw in a defenseman.
elvis15
Dream on that Anaheim is interested in that, and starting off any proposal with 'FIRE GILLIS' will either win you fans or the complete opposite. But, thanks to you, we're going into the draft and next season without a GM. And just a tip but the 'proposal' tag should go in brackets to make it clear, but at least you put the word in there. Rush17
I like the deal but there is no way we get all three players. Possibly 2 + a 1st but not all 3. Santo deserves 1.5-2M at least 1 mill is a bit low but he may sign a home town discount. Statsny will probably want a 5+ year deal. Be nice to have him if he would consider converting to wing. But to be honest given our situation and the uncertainty around the older players in our group. I don't think a player looking for that term would risk coming to Vancouver unless he has a NTC. Something I am positive Gillis will not be wanting to hand out in the future given the issue it has caused him thus far. (Unless its limited NTC where a player must give a list of 10-15 teams). As a fan I'm fine with Gillis handing out NTC's in the future but we need to make sure players have to give us a list of at least 10 teams. Toews
Santorelli is a UFA you won't be able to low ball him now that he has shown what he can do. I think he can easily get a 1 year deal around 2-3m deal on the open market.

I think he can easily get a 1 year deal around 2-3m deal on the open market. Except why would teams risk that incase this year was just an anomally? I think Santo would rather take a pay cut and play for his hometown rather than taking the money and playing elsewhere.
slappipappi
Stastny 3 years, $6M to go to a non-contender? Or he could get 7 years $6.5M+ from a contender. You choose.

Who in that top six d-pairings is going to get 10-13 minutes a game? If we don't/can't trade Edler and we re-sign Tanev as the #5 dman who I assume will require anywhere from 2.5-3.25 million he becomes pretty expensive #5. I know someone we've all wanted was Myers & at his salary he would also bring in something we don't have on the back end, size! Although not sure of pieces required could we move a cheaper dman in Tanev + to Buffalo for Myers that would bring a different dynamic to us? Buffalo has paid out his bonus money so we wouldn't be on the hook for that. This would be of course once Edler has been moved to Bos, Det or Phil as all the threads suggest. This would make room for your Stanton & Lindholm as 5/6 with Lindholm ready for top four minutes in a year or two when Bieksa/Garrison/Hamhuis start to decline. Like the trade for Kesler though I think one player to many. My choice would be to lose Etem.
