BigUncle16
I'm considering switching to Wind. The issues with them I hear about all the time are slow data speeds and building penetration. Anyone here use Wind Mobile on a smartphone plan and can comment on it? Thank you.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
I used Wind for a year because of my companies phone plan and it worked pretty well. Cheaper plans IMO that is able to give you a lot of things, but yes one of the problems I faced with that phone company was sometimes if you went into buildings that were heavily slated with concrete or went into basements the signal was spotty, but other than that I thought it was pretty good. I didn't really have much problems with the data on wind, it was a tad slower compared to what I now use in Bell, but it was terrible. However if data speed is a big issue than i would probably go with a different company like rogers or telus. I think because its still a rather new brand, they are still working out some kinks but overall I thought it was pretty good.
Intoewsables
Half the price for half the service, basically.
Where's Wellwood
It really depends where you are and how you use your phone. I'm always in the Greater Vancouver area so my reception is nearly always fine. It only drops off in forested areas and underground and only occasionally in those areas. Call quality is fine. If you use your phone for business, you might want it a bit better but for day to day use it's fine. Data speed is okay. You'll get used to waiting a half second to a second for a page to load or having to manually reload the page sometimes but I can run multiple tabs no problem on chrome. The main point is that the quality definitely isn't what you get from the Big 3 BUT you get more stuff at decent quality for less than half the price. $30 for unlimited talk, text, data from wind is better than paying $70+ for limited minutes, limited data, and text from Rogers (where I switched from). TheRussianRocket.
Half the price for half the service, basically. ^pretty much that. Know people who have it and basically what they say. Works well at times but others not so much. Weird how the zones work and at some places it's perfect and you think your contract is a steal but at other times you have no connection. Mr. Ambien
Half the price for half the service, basically. That's how I'd describe it.
AppleJack
Depends where you live and what type of phone you have to be honest! I am with wind and really don't have issues unless I go to richmond or north van or to vancouver island. I have a blackberry Q5 but when I had some lame cheap phone I had major issues. I will say this you don't get service like you would with Telus or rogers or bell but I don't have to pay like a small fortune for a phone either!
