Dumb Nuck
Just wondering and reminiscing, wondering if the sell out streak has yet ended or do we have to wait till next season? Reminiscing about before the sell out streak even started, the early 90's, I was young, had a bit of money and was kinda good looking, girls seemed to like me. My date of choice, Canucks games at the Pacific Coliseum. Safeway had sealed envelopes of 2 Canucks tickets for $10, you never knew where you'd sit but at the Pacific Coliseum it didn't matter much. I'd pick up my date in my 1976 spitfire convertible and we'd cruise on over to the Coliseum arriving a good 2 hours before the start of the game, why? Well, they had a tent set up just outside the Coliseum and they served Buffalo burgers and in my lifetime I have never found a burger as good as the ones I had there. So there you have it, lots of girls, great burgers and cheap Canucks tickets, going to 30+ games/year I was never disappointed. Now I'm married with 3 kids and am lucky to afford going to a game once a year with not a buffalo burger to be found, any wonder why I'm reminiscing and hoping the sell out streak ends so others may have a chance as the joys I have had. TheRussianRocket.
It's still going. Just that those rich businessmen with season tickets aren't coming to the last games now knowing the Canucks are out of it. As for the summary, seems like the good old days were a blast! I'm too young and wasn't around back then but seems like it was a much simpler and funner era back then. Now, it's all greed but at least people could enjoy themselves back then. My elder siblings tell me about how Canucks hockey here in Vancouver was before the 90's and say it was completely different compared to what it has become now, just money thirsty corporations. ...I wish I could witness a game or two back then : p
Rubik
You live in North America, not Center Europe. I'd rather live there than here. At least you had the chance to grown up on hockey. I don't have "good old days" in hockey. My hockey-love starts during the 10-11 Stanley Cup Final. But that's all.
Goal:thecup
Thanks I remember those days; you could get a scalped ticket CHEAP and then move into the suits' seats when they didn't show up.I'm not complaining now though, I sit at home, mix my own drinks for CHEAP, eat moosemeat I harvested myself, and watch my big Panasonic Plasma with the PVR blasting through the commercials and the CBC Inbreds - - best drinks, food, and seats in the house. And CHEAP; did I mention CHEAP? Jack Fig
It was certainly a lot more fun going to the Coliseum to watch hockey. The Coliseum smelled and sounded like hockey, still does in fact. I just can't ever enjoy the atmosphere in the Rog. I have no attachment to the place at all.

It is what the sport means to you.

TOMapleLaughs
No those cheap tickets aren't coming back. Not unless this team is relocated to Atlanta. Get real.

nux4lyfe
I remember when I used to play minor hockey, we'd get to 'practice' with the players @ the coliseum all the time..heck, Craig Adams was my neighbor and used to play ball hockey with us all the time, Everything was cheap back then, now that more money is involved everything is so 'exclusive' now.. RDCurran
I remember when I used to go to games when younger and wave my flag and dance around to the music and nobody threatened to kick me out ! Or the times you tried getting a wave going and security just nodded rather then the look of death !

SergioMomesso
My very first game was during the 92-93 season against the jets. I remember being so nervous for some reason. I guess being in a building which held 7 x the population of my hometown might have had something to do with it. My dad managed to get 8 tickets and bring our whole family along with 2 of his buddies from work. Good luck doing that nowadays making 70k a year. Merci
I hope my career in the finance world continues to grow. So when the team is a dynasty full of Canadian prospects who care about winning the cup for a Canadian city instead of making 2 million more a year, I can have my front row $1500 dollar playoff tickets until I am grey, and satisfied with the 5 cups. Started watching game 1 vs Dallas Lu's first playoff game. This is the highest point for the Canucks because instead of two swedes with flat sticks and Kesler we're going to have an all Canadian team of young men that have grown together, through thick and thin. And work is their passion. Work is their passion.
