The Free Press says the documents show Lev Makievsky, a Vancouver-area resident, is seeking unspecified financial damages in a statement of claim filed last week in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Makievsky alleges he was jumped by Kane one evening last August as he was walking home from a bar where he was working in promotions. He claims he suffered a concussion and numerous injuries to his head, neck, back, shoulders, chest, ribs and leg that are causing ongoing headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue and insomnia as a result. The newspaper says it's also learned that Vancouver police previously investigated Makievsky's version of events and took no action against the player. Kane, his agent and the Winnipeg Jets are not commenting on the allegations and Makievsky's claims have not been proven in court.
touchable
Just saw this on TSN... what the hell.He claims he suffered a concussion and numerous injuries to his head, neck, back, shoulders, chest, ribs and leg that are causing ongoing headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue and insomnia as a result.A lot of times in civil suits the injuries are overblown/exaggerated, but if the above is true, it was a pretty serious assault.Guess this quells the Kane to Vancouver rumours for now until this is settled? Magikal
wow. I used to work with Lev and actually know him fairly well. I haven't spoken to him in over a year though. I should definitely give him a call and see what I can find out about this.

Why would Kane randomly assault anyone? There's always two sides to every story. I'm sure Kane's side will be quite different.
babych
The newspaper says it's also learned that Vancouver police previously investigated Makievsky's version of events and took no action against the player. I wonder how much this will affect the suit.

If kane thinks its ok to straight up assault someone, then i think its ok to overblow the injuries and make the bastard pay. If its an accident that cause the injuries then its not really fair. If its an assault, then exaggerating injuries is less of an offense than physically hurting someone imo. TheXFactor
Guilty or not I doubt Kane would get more than a slap on the wrist. That pro athlete status works wonders in reducing sentences lol.

Guess this quells the Kane to Vancouver rumours for now until this is settled? There were rumours? Oh, you mean CDC really wanting him here. But the article even says the VPD investigated already and took no action. Doesn't sound like they had anything that could be proven or felt nothing actually happened. But my point was, maybe it was a mutual disagreement/fight, they each got a couple of weak punches in, were separated and went on their way, and now this guy is blowing it out of proportion in order to get money out of a rich pro athlete who doesn't want his reputation tarnished.I find it hard to believe that Kane would just "jump" someone unprovoked, even if he was drunk. There's two sides to every story, and we've only heard one. There were rumours? Oh, you mean CDC really wanting him here.Yeah, that's what I was getting at
