1.) High-skilled center who anchors an offensive line (Schenn, etc.)

2.) High-skilled mobile puck-rushing defenseman (Fowler, etc.)

3.) High-skilled goal-scoring winger (Schwartz, etc.)

Which one of these type of players would you appreciate most as a fan?

Someone with Ovechkin and Stamkos' scoring, P. Kanes puck handling, Datsyuks awesomeness, Charas size, Lucics toughness, Karlssons PMD, 2010/11 Sedinery, Kelsers beast mode, Kelsers determination, Grabners speed, Keslers defensive play, ROR's lack of penalties and Shea Webers shot

I would like a guy that is a d first d man that has potential to score more given PP time etc. who is tough and will take no BS from anybody but who isn't a goon and who plays with class. We let that exact player walk away with Willie Mitchell and we have been looking for another one ever since, despite Juice's well intentioned attempts to recreate Willie.

Since the Boston series, Gillis has focused on getting bigger and tougher. The reason why the Canucks were successful those couple years, and made the finals, is the transition game and the speed of the overall team. The team was praised for being able to quickly move the puck in and out of the zone. Focus on getting faster, and acquiring more energy players that are good on the fore check. You win playoff series, that way.

Team should have never signed Garrison, the guy never fit the team to begin with, but Vancouver had to find someone to replace Salo. The priority should be to remove one of the top 4, and replace him with a smooth skating puck mover, that can improve the PP, and the 1st line instantly.

After, that, you focus on the secondary scoring.

There is a reason why big skilled, slow guys struggle in the playoffs. ex. Thornton, Iginla, and the Twins. You need to surround them with speed, and add different dimensions in their games, or else they are easily scouted, and can't do anything.

Coming into this season, the team needed 3 things - a puck mover, a 3rd line center shutdown center, and a skilled goal scorer. You could argue that we've found our 3rd line center in Mattias, but those 2 other pieces are still void. Maybe, you can try using a prospect like Jensen to be a skilled guy, and roll with it but there's no fast skating puck mover in the system. Ben Hutton, may look like it, but there are things he is doing in college, that would make a NHL coach cringe. Then there's Jordie Subban..

I wish we had a game-breaker, a Pavel Bure type player who is a 100% pure goal scorer. I dont think such a player exists right now but one would sure be nice to have. We already have plenty of good "two way" guys.

Shinkaruk has that in him if they don't "develop" it out of him. That pre season goal against the sharks was ridiculous.
