shiznak
I don’t think they need JRam at this point. Their biggest weakness now is the bullpen. They need some insurance, if guys like Mayza, Richards, and Romano can’t produce like they did last year.
RUPERTKBD
Just looking at what's left in the prospect pool for the Jays.... The only untouchable I believe would be Gabriel Moreno. However, the 2nd and 3rd ranked prospects in the system are both SS/3B, Orelvis Martinez and Jordan Groshans. The Guardians need a catcher, so I wonder if one of those two SS/3B prospects, plus any of the Jays catchers (probably Kirk) and either Stripling, or the next pitching prospect on the depth chart, Adam Kloffenstein gets it done? Maybe add Josh Palacios?

Reshuffling something in the outfield to get another left handed bat in the lineup might be nice as well.

Mychal Givens used to give the Jays a lot of trouble when he was an Oriole..... Thoughts?

A bit of an "under the radar" guy is Mallex Smith. (Jays picked him up from the Reds this summer for basically nothing) He looked like a player back when he was with the Rays a few years ago, but injuries have really set him back. He doesn't have much power, but he does have a lot of speed and he bats left. If the Jays decide to move Lourdes, Grich or Teo to upgrade somewhere else, Smith is a possibility. If he can rediscover his form from a few years back when he was in Tampa, he might bring something the Jays a lacking in: speed. If memory serves, Smith is also better defensively than Gurriel or Hernandez. (although that bar is admittedly not all that high )

I was thinking Jake Diekman as another lefty in the pen, just in case Mayza can’t repeat his performance from last season.

We can only hope Borucki can stay healthy and help out, in the pen. Maybe they can go after Trevor Rosenthal?

He's a lefty and a former Jay, but the numbers look pretty bad.....maybe they can get him cheap....
RUPERTKBD
Andrew Miller is another lefty reliever still available, but he made 12 Mil last year and he's almost 37..... .....but former Yankee Chasen Shreve looks like he might be a decent option. Another lefty and his numbers were pretty good with the Pirates last season....

I remember Norris striking out Ortiz in his first ever appearance in the big league with that nasty curveball and Papi just gave him that “are you kidding me?” look. I always had high hopes for him even after the trade, but ultimately injuries derailed his career. 1
Bure_of_94
Looking at Chapman’s WAR his defence is soooo good that he is even higher than the Bringer Of Rain’s when he played for Toronto. Listening to Shi Dividi talk today, he said Bichette won’t have to shade toward’s 3rd anymore which will make his individual war improve. And this is a huge key, because 4 of our 5 in the rotation rely heavily on ground ball outs. We’re seeing the plan come together and I’m liking it.

Important asset to have in the 9th or extras in a tie game, or when you’re trailing. Having that base stealing threat is huge. Hopefully he makes it as an extra. Yes, Billy Hamilton is also out there for speed. I wonder if we could trade Grich for bullpen help and then sign Billy Hamilton as a 4th OF for cheap? He kind of reminds me of Ben Revere and is a switch hitter. I think we need a left handed batter or two, but I’m not going to Poo-poo on the lineup because I believe we have 4 or 5 righties that can hit both LHP and RHP effectively. I think Teoscar has good splits vs both.

I think they're probably hoping Merryweather fill finally be able to stay healthy (which has never happened) and that Pearson will also help. I could see them trying to trade Grichuk or Gurriel for a left handed bat, or poking the tires at what it would cost to sign Conforto. And then if they sign him, trading one of those guys after that. When I see a big name come off the board and they haven't gone to the Yankees, I'm pretty happy.
