It's common knowledge that Angel Hernandez is one of, if not the worst umpire in MLB...

....but credit where credit is due....he's been far better than the last couple of guys calling balls and strikes in Jays' games....

It seems whenever I see Angel Hernandez make bad calls it's on the bases.

Agreed. Although I have to admit, every time he made a borderline call that was correct last night, I asked "Who are you and what have you done with Angel Hernandez?"....

I remember a great Twitter line from a few years back...Trevor Bauer was having a rough inning against the Royals, giving up a two run lead and as Terry Francona was coming out to give him the hook, he took the game ball and threw it over the fence in center field....

The line on Twitter was: "Angel Hernandez called it a strike".....

MLB Gameday is inaccurate sometimes, especially when it comes to plays at the end of the inning.

That's what I figured. .

But when I first saw it, i thought, "Wow! That's one hell of a shift!"

Anyone concern with the early struggles from Bowie?

He can’t make contact with a fastball to save his life.

TBH, I've been a bit worried about all the hitters. Other than Vladdy, all of them seem to have underachieved....

As far as Bo goes, I think his average is pretty good, considering that he seems to start every AB at 0-2....

Another adventure in the 9th from JR, but when you can reach back for 99 MPH, it can make up for a lot.

Huge win though.

Anytime you can win a Justin Verlander start, especially when you counter with your spot starter, it's a big deal.

A come from behind, road win, with huge contributions from the bottom of the order and terrific defense.....that's a pretty big deal....

Bo has always been a great 0-2 hitter, and when he does strikeout, he usually puts up a good fight with the pitcher.

This season, pitchers have been blowing him away with 94mph fastballs. Which isn’t the norm for him.

Agreed. I think he'll eventually time them up though......

That being said, I think he could take a page out of Vladdy's book and shorten up the swing with 2 strikes and just put the ball in play, instead of coming out of his shoes.....
