What did they say about Pillar?

also, are hits for power just extra base hits?

Both broadcasts said he didn't fit in the lead-off because he swings at everything and doesn't draw enough walks.

Yeah, I should have just simplified as XBH instead of 'hits for power'.

Tough to argue with that. The difference between his BA and OBP is pretty minimal when you compare it to a guy like Bautista. Always thought Pillar would make s good lead off hitter if he could work on that.

And yeah I still understood what you meant (as I'm sure others did) but XBH would've been a little less vague

I missed the game..I wondered what you ment about Donaldson a double short of the cycle...lol...damn it all..of course I would miss a win..reading the box score I see Carrera was in for Saunders...I could see that coming but he did no better.

So I watched most of the game while laying in bed. I started to doze off and eventually fell asleep when it was 7-2. I guess I had a dream where the Tigers came back and won 8-7. I actually woke up and was like "are you kidding me?" I immediately checked my phone and let out a sigh of relief when I saw the score.

Machado gets 4 games, Ventura 8. How does this even make sense?

...aka Machado misses 4 starts, Ventura 1. What's the point of even giving him "8" games? Extra 3 games makes no sense when he starts every 5 days. Pretty messed they couldn't even suspend him 2 starts.

agreed and of course everyone appeals it so they are still playing...do you think Machado should have got more than 4 games considering he charged the mound and punched Ventura in the face and Odor got 7 games..hate Ventura but just sayin?

also what are the thoughts if Stroman craps the bed to many more times if he is moved to the bull pen for awhile?

Machado was the victim and retaliated. I think 3 or 4 is fine.

...as for Stroman, hopefully this is just a rough stretch he breaks out of. Knowing his work ethic and leadership qualities, I'm certain he will. Knocking on wood and hate to even bring it up but...pls don't Ricky Romero it :excl:

Gee, Baltimore manufactured a run.  Living off the homerun was fun last year, but it doesn't look like it'll win you championships.

Said that all year last season.

And was evident the Jays front office didn't learn when they moved out Revere instead of Saunders or another guy. A guy like Ben is who this team is desperately missing...its not about batting in runs, it's about getting runners on base first..

It's not just that.  Last year, the Jays seemed to be having lots of quality at bats.  They were continually exhausting pitching staffs throughout a series.  Just doesn't seem to be the case now.

Somewhat surprising to see a high school kid go first overall. MLB has been trending away from that and going for college guys who are surer bets and closer to being ready. There was that ginger kid Cleveland took like fifth overall a couple years ago...he was regarded as the best prospect in the draft but slipped anyway.

That loss today hurt..Loup needs to go..but Grilli looked good.

Loup has been an adventure for a while now, but with Cecil out, the Jays need a lefty in the pen and until Atkins finds them a better one, (Who knows what Cecil will look like when he returns) I think we're stuck with him.

The good news is, lefty specialists usually come in to face one or two guys. That means Loup can only do so much damage...

Remember 2012/13 when Loup was actually pretty decent?
