Will a new GM honour the NTCs?

Forwards:

  • Higgins would be the easiest to move and would be a good player to package in a trade.
  • Burrows had such an unlucky season that most teams would be concerned about trading for him.
  • Kesler could bring us back some interesting options, but you have to make sure the trade is for the best, do we really need back another 3rd line centre like Sutter when we already have Matthais, Richardson, Horvat, Gaunce, Santorelli) or do we need back another 2nd pairing defenceman?
  • It would be hard to find a team that can take both Sedins and would give us a good enough return

Defence:

  • Edler regressed this year and has already stated before that he wasn't interested in waiving, but hopefully we can trade him!
  • Garrison is a good player but seems a bit redunant compared to our other defencemen
  • Bieska is a good core player and good 2nd pairing defenceman and is one of our few right handed shots, not really sure we can get much value in a trade.
  • Hamhuis is our Olympic defenseman and brings stability to our defence, it would be hard to replace him.

The new GM should have a sit down with these players and discuss the obvious state of the team. Since neither the player or the GM have an attachment to one another it shouldn't be a problem discussing it now.

Fully agree, and that's what I'm hoping will happen.
