Bren Mo
He is what we need. He isnt afraid of trading the popular players, he has made some big deals in the past that have worked out well and when they didnt (jeff carter sulked and didnt want to stay) he then fixed the problem immediately. He built the current blue jackets team which is a gritty, grinding team loaded on the back end and full of guys with compete who care about eachother which is also a fit with coach tortorella. If youre down with us unloading the sedins and building a current columbus type of team with torts leading the way then let us know
Rush17
I am going to do more research on him before I make a comment leaning one way or another. Seems like an interesting prospect though. What trades did he execute as part of CBJ? He was part of keeping Nash for so long wasn't he? Here is his trade history with CBJ: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=655418 He did ok moved pieces pretty easily but to be fair. Moving star players in CBJ is nothing like moving star players in VAN. I am not sold on him but maybe he's a possibility? I am not sure what does the majority of fans here think? Think we could probably do better but I would much prefer Scott over Feaster.

elvis15
How do I minus this petition? Is there such a thing as signing to show I didn't want to sign? Is there an anti-petition?
Bren Mo
Uhm, there is a reason he is no longer the General Manager of the Jackets.. He was the scapegoat for the rick nash deal which was extremely unpopular. He burned the rangers big time with that but the fanbase hated it at the time and ownership put it all on him. He also hired Todd richards, got Bryz, and everyone else on that team including the 3 first rounders they selected kirby reichel etc. with. Boone Jenner, dubinsky, foligno, johannsen, all their dmen, that was all howson. Yeah the team was bad but no free agents wanted to go there either (columbus ohio) and he built a pretty solid team in a tough situation. He got balls, is willing to make deals, and has an eye for gritty talent.
Warhippy
This is the guy who thought trading multiple picks and players for John Scott, Patrick Kaletta and Jordon Tootoo was a sensible move....

He was handcuffed in the Nash deal and lucked out when the players that the rangers just threw away turned out to be better than thought He's terrible

YEGCanuck
Howson was and now is again an Asst. Gen. Mgr. in Edmonton. If I had a vote I would not touch anything that had to do with the Oilers.
Tre Mac
Wow if you are going to petition for a GM candidate how about me? I'll hire all of you as advisors... We all win and in time the Canucks will as well.

Warhippy
I thought you would have disappeared from here as soon as gillis was fired. Maybe you just like to vent on here as opposed to being a gillis shill I'm sorry. Lets try this again. Gillis in his tenure won a divisional banner every year. Two presidents trophies GM of the year. Scott Howson traded a franchise player messed up multiple high picks made the playoffs never and couldn't even get the Carter trade right. Now if you seriously think Howson us the right replacement for gillis because he'll trade the core (seriously?) Assuming any of them waive their NTCs you obviously have literally no clue what you're talking about. but hey, maybe he could trade Kesler for Tootoo, Horvat for Scott and then you'd be happy right? Clown.....some peoples children I swear
