fanfor42
The Trevor Linden era of the Canucks has begun. Immediately there is a feel good sense to his appointment. Gillis is gone. Torts may soon follow suit. So, let's try to chill out as a fan base and stop calling for people to be fired. Stop the impatience. It's like a 17 year old virgin. Seriously. Chill out.Ya the Canucks came close in 2011. But they also came close in 94 and relatively close in 82. They haven't got it yet. But jeez it's not life and death is it? The team has been pretty good for the last decade. They have a chance to regroup and get back to the finals again don't they? Why the crazy impatience?Vancouver is a sought after destination to live. Wonderful lifestyle. Property values are sky high. What's the problem? We don't pale in comparison to any other city in North America so why the angst? Why the crazed need to win a Stanley Cup at all costs. Heck it's not even considered one of the top prizes in professional sports in the US..Hopefully Linden's appointment can bring about a calm that lasts for the next 20 years. He is the guy from the team's past. He is the connection to roots that theCanucks have always wanted. So let's chill out and let it happen. If it takes 5 years or 10 years ok. Crazy screaming and demanding of peoples heads has brought us zero championships. Let's try patience, calm and quiet understanding. Supportyour team. Dumb Nuck
I tried being calm and patient for the first 40 years, it only the last few I started screaming and asking for people's heads.
King Heffy
I don't call for people's heads unless they constantly make idiotic trades, play Ebbett, or lazily skate around their own zone.

And who cares if the Stanley Cup isn't a "top prize" in the US? The sprint cup is a top prize there for gods sake. Why do you feel the need to suck up to Americans? The Stanley cup is the most storied trophy in the history of sports. Entire generations have lived and died since BC last saw it. It's perfectly acceptable to covet the cup. In fact if winning it isn't your primary goal you have the wrong mentality.

DeltaSwede
How can you be a fan of a sports franchise and not wish for them to win? I wish my team made the playoffs but never win the cup because our parks are pretty and i enjoy taking my dogs on walks there in the spring.
