peaches5
Anyone else interested in him? I would push hard to get him and I don't see him costing a lot maybe Gaunce and mid pick.

TheRussianRocket.
If the cost is Gaunce, no-way, and then a pick ontop of him would be ludicrous on our behalf. No need to sacrifice future for a position we are pretty decent at and which won't upgrade us significantly.

I think Jones is going to be a top 5 goalie in the NHL within the next 3-4 years IF he gets out of LA. Right now is the cheapest he will be if he has another good year, next year, the price will go up quite a bit.
CanuckFanForever1123
I don't know for sure that Jones would be available. I have to imagine the Kings want to keep him until his value skyrockets, like we did with Cory. But, hypothetically, if he was available, and it cost us Gaunce and a mid pick, you can count me in. It could be an overpayment, or maybe not, but I am not all that high on Gaunce to be honest. I think he turns into a good 3rd line center, at best, which we already have several candidates for. Were loaded with centers, and we may even pick up one or two more in this draft with potential. As far as goalies, we had the most depth in the NHL last June, and suddenly we are down to Lack, who played very well, but was a rookie, so can he keep this up, and Markstrom, who is completely unreliable thus far, despite a ton of potential. After that there isn't much... Jones may only be 20 games into his NHL career, but 4 shutouts, and under 2 GAA against the big boys...Cant argue with results. I think its a quality investment, when you don't know how reliable you really are yet. Best case scenario, like the OP thinks, he becomes an elite NHL goalie, and we stole him for a kid that still seems at least 1-2 years away from NHL, if ever. Worst case scenario, he gets outplayed by our other goalies who would be stepping up their games quite a bit, and we keep him in AHL and swing him for a draft pick or prospect later, or let him eventually leave on his own terms, and know that we had a pretty damn good goalie competition. Personally, I don't see it as a bad idea one bit if Kings would really let him go. Plus he's dirt cheap as of now too.

Granted you still have to stop the puck but Scrivens had those kind of numbers too & look at what he can do for the Oil. I'd rather pry Holtby out of the Caps in a Kesler package.
