Just a thought?

Recommended Posts

I had a thought and want to know if you think it makes any sense. I think the head coach of our canucks should have a hand in selecting the head coach of Utica. I also think he should oversee and consult with that coach that that the coaching style and style of play implemented on the farm is similar to the parent club. I think that when players are young and being taught how to play it's counter productive to not do this. It would make for a much smoother transition to the big club. Maybe this is already been done and I'm not aware of it.

Yes.

Another reason to keep Tortorella. He and Travis Green seem to be on the same page.

What, does Green also play his top guys too much and in every situation in spite of other players who would be better suited?

But as far as I know the management has always at least heard from the coach on the style they'd like to play and taken it into consideration when hiring a coach in the AHL - even to the point of asking feedback from whoever our current coach is on the available candidates. The personnel in the AHL may not be anything like what we have in the NHL though, so forcing the exact same coaching style isn't realistic.
