Honky Cat
Great goalie..although its quite possible he will have stiff competition from Anaheims John Gibson in the near future..None of this is good news if you're a Canuck fan..
JeremyCuddles
Does this have to be on the Canucks board? Lol Not a surprise LA can suffocate you with goaltending a great defence. See if it's enough against Chicago or young guns Colorado.
poetica
Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick wins the William M Jennings trophyThis trophy is rewarded to the goaltender who allows the fewest goals Congrats Jonathan! .... Just a correction: The Jennings is awarded to the goalie(s) with 25+ starts in a season on the team with the fewest goals allowed. In terms of individual goalie stats, Quick wasn't first, but he was an impressive 5th in the league for GAA. (Schneider was 3rd!) But still, good for him! Quick is a good goalie, but also an example of how a solid defense can make a goalie look even better. For example, LA's 2 backups this season, Jones and Scrivens, both played in 19 games and both had even better SV% and GAA than Quick. They were certainly a big part of LA narrowly beating out Boston for the lowest GA/G in the league. It's just too bad they won't get their name on the trophy as well since they each started fewer than 25 games. It's not coincidental that the goalies with the best stats in the league have the best defense in front of them. It's always a team effort and each part will effect the others.
