grandmaster
Buttman is will lose some revenue on the Canadian side, not that it matters to him. He would rather put out a failing product in a US city for the odd chance it picks up rather than please a new Canadian city
snucks
Pretty sad that only one Canadian team made the playoffs. I guess all the good managers, coaches and players from Canada are down there.
timberz21
Actually, he's probably not, Full house in Canada (specially Toronto, Vancouver) brings a lot more $$$ than a full house in Minnesota, Dallas, Columbus, etc.Yes the odds of the cup coming back to Canada is pretty low (as it's already is even with 4-5 canadian teams in the playoffs), but i'm pretty sure it's not the best for the league.I wouldn't be surprised if the revenue sharing given to teams like Phoenix, Dallas and Nashville was more than the actual profit made by those team in 1 playoff round. -DLC-
Substance is an issue here, although with a bit of a lull I'm tempted to turn it into something of a mad libs type thing. Yea I can see him now kicking back in under his hollowed tree mine bridge, laughing it up with all the other Elves Dwarves trolls. Because we won't have a whole lot to discuss, we'll let it fly for now.
Fred65
I don't know how much impact there is when 5 of the strongest financial markets fail. The first round I believe is a financial wash for teams paticapting....they have to pay up for running the tourney. And I don't know it TV ratings effect the NHL income or not. But one thing for sure is TV ratings in Canada will plummet and that surely can't be good for the league. How many yeasr can the league endure mean nothing teams dominating the cream positions in the league
R3aL
Just food for thought, if Vancouver was the only can team in playoffs Montreal fans would not cheer for us..
RonMexico
Just food for thought, if Vancouver was the only can team in playoffs Montreal fans would not cheer for us.. Your point? I certainly will not be cheering for Montreal. I don't care about any other Canadian team's fans cheering for the Canucks if they had made it either. If the Canucks aren't the team bringing the Cup to Canada, then I don't want it to be won north of the border. Period. On top of that, the whole Canadian conspiracy is a joke and doesn't exist. Any evidence, or realistically lack of evidence, is just spite from bitter betties.
