snucks
Is Edler slow because of a injury? Did he have a back injury and is he favoring it?He seems clueless also at times. If he is injured and still playing, that could be his problem. If he is not playing hurt then what gives. He needs to skate better than he does with his salary. Heretic
How about the Sedins? They are slow now as well - that is, at one time they were faster than most of the NHL'ers - now they are in the middle...too many times this year they were out raced - either for the puck, they had a breakaway chance but the other team recovered, or they failed to get back to stop a 2 on 1 or breakaway.... Phil_314
Never thought he was slow at all, I thought he was just brain dead. Agreed, it's not that he's slow foot-speed wise... but noggin-wise Slow skaters don't do this normally But yes, he has been the source of many a turnover, and I just wish that the PP coaches would've given him more liberties than just the standard pass across to Garrison. Sure he's not Ehrhoff but I think he has it in him to make more happen given the opportunity. Oh, and he's done some really stupid things when he loses his temper, like leveling Ryan Smyth in his last game? I just thought that was dumb and not respectful. CanucksSayEh
He's a good skater, just makes his decisions 1 shift too late. So he looks like a zombie out there.
Dogbyte
It's pitiful. Sometimes the opposing players completely blow by him and actually create seperation.
Edler's Mind Tricks
Also, people might be underestimating the effect of his back injury. Some people never fully recover from stuff like that.
Cold Hard Truth
Ahlex Edler needs to find a new team to sandbag.Never seen a guy try harder to get his coach fired than Ahlex this year.

AV.
Alex is fine. =/- isn't really a big deal, and while he's made some dumb mistakes this year, he'll have a new season to correct everything he's sucked at this season. The guy's a stud when he's mentally "in" and I think he can get there again.

Absent Canuck
Elder is not slow nor stupid. He cannot play the puck well in his feet. He loses it all the time . Its like a different zip code all the way up to his eyeballs and he has trouble dealing with it. When the puck is in front of him a two feet or more he is fine. It's not often that a player seems to have such a specific deficiency, and I'm not sure how he could go about improving on it, but it's definitely something for him to improve on. Raph
I don't think his speed or agility is any physical problem. He's indecisive. Then when he decides, he's making the wrong decision.
