1SportsLover1
So, yesterday I wrote one about Virtanen and today about Nylander. I am so torn, if we stay at 6 and the top 5 go ekblad reinhart dal colle draisitl bennett, no patricular order then I think it comes down to Nylander Virtanen. Nylander was ranked #3 by bob mckenzie coming into the year, #2 by SB nation #2 by another top scout and #1 by a ranking I just seen. Even after players like dal colle and bennett jumping he is still always top 5/6. They say he is the best offensive player in the draft, his arsenal is unmatched, incredible skater , shot and vision. he dominated whatever league and age group he plays in, and they say he is the most lethal player within 45 feet of the net, so creative, too creative at times haha, the kid has unreal talent and can make players look silly. AND he is a centre. Virtanen is the hometown kid, who they say when is on is the most dominant and best player in the draft and they say he has no holes in his game, size speed shot, knocked 2 players out of a game cuz he wants the puck that bad. Its so tough , a line of Virtanen Horvat Shinkaruk / or Horvat Nylander Shinkaruk, (horvat can play wing) Either one would be incredible , most people have Nylander ranked higher. I am literally torn, the player experts had as a guaranteed top 3 who could be the best player from this draft or the hometown kid who is physical and can skate and shoot and was #1 pick in whl draft. If I had to choose right now Id say Nylander because alot of people still have him atleast top 4/5 and so he looks like a superstar. What do you guys think, honeslty if you have to choose right now who would you want. I say Nylander
Jiggs50
We need someone with the high end speed and skill of Nylander. I really like Kapanen as well.
Silfverberg Snipes
Nylander >>> I'm going to laugh at the team that drafts Virtanen only to realize he's a one trick pony.
1SportsLover1
I am very interested to see Bob mckenzies rankings, although I believe there not his, i think he gathered all the scouts rankings and is going of majority
24K PureCool
At 6th overall, he might be our best choice at that spot if non of the top 5 fell off.
Bilbro Baggins
At 6th I'm hoping for one of the top 5 to drop. If not, I'd like one of Nylander, Ehlers, Ritchie. Kapanen and Virtanen are intriguing, but there are better options IMO.
1SportsLover1
Yea I love Nylander, if we draft him in 5 years from now people will say WOW, Vancouver got the best player from the draft, other teams mistakes for passing on him will be our lucky day! I love talking about this stuff because its not like some random free agent, this is the future of our team, what a rebuild this could be. Horvat Shinkaruk Cassells Subban from 1 draft and now Nylander, add in Jensen and Gaunce , potentially fox and then if we trade some vets , kesler bieksa edler sedins whoever, we could land Mcdavid. But lets focus on this year. Again just Imagine Horvat Nylander Shinkaruk!!!!!! Heaven

1SportsLover1
I would not touch Ehlers, not because of size, infact i hate when people bash a player for size , big or small talent is talent, but i believe while he is gifted, drouin is a BIG part of him, Imagine Nylander with drouin ya know. So all in all. if we dont win the lottery , (cross fingers we do!) if the top 5 dont fall. i truly do believe one could because it all depends on the teams big board. No one had barkov going 2nd or jones going 4th. I say Nylander is the man. Bob mckenzie had him in the company of reinhart ekblad, ahead of draisitl dal colle bennett. Nylander is our man I pray! missioncanucksfan
Nylander >>> I'm going to laugh at the team that drafts Virtanen only to realize he's a one trick pony.well he can skate thru checks, score goals, skates like the wind, +25 in each of his last 2 seasons. Can drop the gloves. Lets see....those are tricks right?
brownky
Draft Tyson Baille in the early third round if he's on the board. Or if we get a late 2nd through a trade or something. That young man is going to be money in the bank in a couple of years.
SamJamIam
Nylander >>> I'm going to laugh at the team that drafts Virtanen only to realize he's a one trick pony. Oh thank GOD I'm not the only one who sees this! Anyone is better than Virtanen at the number 6-7 spot. Except Ehlers. CDC is on crack with this draft. The drop off after the top 5 is staggering, so pray that Dal Colle or (preferably) Draisaitl drops to us

elvis15
1SportsLover1, are you going to make a thread for everyone of the players in the draft you like? You've already created these three in the last two days, all in Canucks Talk: great thread on the draft in the Prospects forum where you could be discussing this.
