EagleShield
I was listening to TEAM 1040 yesterday, and they were suggesting that Pittsburgh might want to part ways with Fleury, and that the Canucks may want to go after him. If it's clear that they want rid of him, could we work that into a Kesler deal? Take him as a cap dump for a year in exchange for a very favorable deal... To PIT: Kesler, Cannata, 2015 2nd To VAN: Fleury, Maatta, Pouliot, 2014 1st My value is probably way off, but by giving them something they want and taking away something they don't, we could really do well. Watermelons
That's a huge overpayment by Pittsburg...they didn't even want to give us Pouliot in the original deal LOL why would they add Maata and Fleury... And second, the Canucks don't need another goalie who can't perform in the playoffs.
Nas19
The Penguins are not going to give up Maatta. And they sure as hell ain't giving up both Maatta and Pouliot. Maybe take out Mattaa and add another 1st round pick in 2015. Maybe throw in a 2nd or a 3rd from Pittsburgh as well. EDIT: And this deal would leave the Penguins without a number 1 goalie. So unless they signed a number 1 through free agency I highly doubt they would do this.
Tangelos
Lack is better than Fleury so this is just a downgrade
Madness
Fleury sucks. We don't need him.
MJDDawg
I don't get it. Why would we want Fleury again? So that we can have even more goalie drama next time we make the playoffs?
Mr.53
I think a more realistic trade would be Kes for Fleury and a first/prospect but i don't think we really need to do that. Id rather use Kes to get some other pieces and try to sign Lack a backup in free agency. (this also assumes we ship Markstrom out as well.) That way we get maximum return. No need to waste the return on a non needed asset. the only way I see us doing a Kesler for Fleury + swap is if we did something ridiculous like trade Lack or something. If we somehow flipped Lack+ for Kane and then flipped Kesler for Fleury +, that would be interesting. Don't think it has a high chance of happening though. elvis15
They aren't going to sweeten the deal just because we'd have to take on Fluery as a cap dump. If they really want to make some cap space then they'll find another way to do it rather than adding to a Kesler deal in the hopes we bite. Jai604
No offense, but that is just a horrible proposal, lol. No way in hell PIT gives up two blue-chip defensive prospects (one of which has played a bunch of games in the NHL) just to "dump" Fleury, who in my mind still has value. Wiznac
There are still teams that would take fluery as a starter ( such as edm ) and would pay to have him. I don't think he's a cap dump and as already pointed out they don't have a goalie to replace him
From.The.Point
Too many Kesler proposals! Any chance we can just get a pinned [Kesler Proposals] going? Just a thought!

bigbadcanucks
No thanks to Fleury...we've already got too many players on the roster that are prone to brain farts. I do agree that we need a backup/parallel no. 1 to Eddie Lack...would love to see James Reimer end up here...young, big, technically decent, good Western Canadian boy, calm demeanor, quasi no. 1 experience. Markstrom and Hansen for Reimer? Sign Santorelli on the cheap ($1.0M) to replace Hansen's ridiculous $2.5M. While we're at it, maybe we can throw in Garrison or Edler and try to get Jake Gardiner. Phil_314
If you can't play well enough to shut the door behind a team with two of the best players in the game giving you a lead to work with then why should we trust that you could do it on any other team? He'd do well on defensive squads, not here, plus considering what Lu went through despite decent performances M.A.F. would get killed by the local fans. Junkyard Dog
NO. If we want a veteran goalie there's a ton available this FA.
VegasCanuck
K that might be the worst proposal I've ever seen on CDC. Actually, its a great proposal.....for us! If Mad Mike Milbury was GM of Pittsburgh we might have more more than a snows chance in hell of happening!!!
JeremyCuddles
Fluery has value, he's not a Booth... And why the hell would they move Maatta and Pouliot? We'd be lucky to swing Pouliot and a 1st and 2nd for Kes. Unless they get romped in the playoffs.
Gstank29
one of the worst prospects I've seen on here. JUST BECAUSE IT WORKS IN NHL 14 DOESNT MEAN IT WILL IN REAL LIFE
silver_surfer
No way this flies. If Pittsburgh is going to dump him they'll buy him out, not give us Maatta to take him off their hands.
