Salter
I was thinking about doing a deal straight up , Edler for Morgan Rielly, but then I realized that Rielly has has a better season than Edler and is much younger. I'd be hoping for Toronto thinking it was just an off year and that he could return to his good form from 2012 season and that they would want to gain a veteran for their locker room who has a solid 6+ years left in his career. To Vancouver: Morgan Rielly To Toronto: Edler, Hansen, 2nd in 2014. I'm still a little bit iffy on the value but I've added in Hansen and the 2nd because in because Rielly has been very good since joining the NHL. I could see us needing to add a bit more on our side but it is a good place to start a re-tool.

Salter
Don't worry I know that this deal wouldn't go through. I'm more looking to everyone to assist on what should be added considering Toronto would want a lot to give him up.
TheRussianRocket.
Canucks wouldn't do Edler for Reilly one for one yet adding more and Leafs probably wouldn't do it one for one either since they consider their prospects as immortal.

I think management would would go ape sh!t if they could get rid of Edler's contract.
rawkdrummer
2012 entry draft, 5th overall pick Morgan Rielly is Toronto's blueline future. Anyone that thinks Edler + spare parts is getting you Rielly is dreaming. BTW, I'd say if Edler wants to stand by his NTC then threaten to waive him. mrhopeless
Why would Toronto trade their best young player? To make you happy?

You're funny! Vancouver would lick their chops at their chance to get a young puck moving defenceman, born in raised in Vancouver no less. Add to that you're taking the most inconsistent player in the league, along with his 5M cap, off your roster? Gravy
Gross-Misconduct
You'd have to give up something more than Edler for Reilly no matter how you package it.
TheRussianRocket.
I just think it's a situation where neither team would pull the trigger.

Madness
Makes no sense for either team really. Toronto isn't going to give away their top young D man.

Mr.53
No way they would do an Edler for Reilly swap. An Edler for Gardiner type deal is possible but still highly unlikely. Kesler/Reilly type deal is more possible but I wouldn't bank on it. Also, don't forget about the NTCs. There are very few teams that a player would usually waive to go too. Don't think Toronto is one of them. Edler already probably won't waive, but If he did, Toronto probably won't be a destination. No reason he'd want to go there
Mr.53
VAN Reilly 2015 1st TOR Edler Kesler nooooo. I wouldn't take that deal. Better throw Kadri in and ok. Honestly, I think a more realistic deal would be Edler Kesler for Gardiner, Kadri, and a first. That was the price we demanded to Toronto for Kesler in the first place. They weren't willing to match but add Edler, and they should at least consider it. Honestly, I think we could probably get a little more out of it too but it won't happen anyways. They won't waive to go to Toronto.

Phil_314
Maybe Tanev+ for Gardiner? We'd get a good young player back for Chris and I think this gives the D more balance Hamhuis - Bieksa Gardiner - Garrison Edler - Stanton/ Corrado
