Caboose
Can someone refresh my memory; Are we just drafting a 23 man roster? Or will we be selecting deeper than that, and allowed to draft guys who might not make the NHL this year. And protect them as your property until RFA status runs out... 2 picks brotha. Canuck Surfer
The WPG Jets; Sean Monahan / Joe Thornton / Marty St Louis Nick Bjugstad / Aleksander Barkov / Tanner Pearson Dan Hamhuis / Duncan Keith Kimmo Timonen / Kris Russell Anti Niemi Ben Scrivens $41,988, 462 in cap (now adjusted wi full bonuses, ex $3,575,000 for Barkov not $925,000 salary, ex $3,5000,000 for Timonen not $2,000,000 salary > This is how we want it done ???) Primal Optimist
yeah, i think that is how it goes...and don't worry mine is higher! I should clarify that I am a fan of using the full bonuses and everything, because the other way will take a huge ammount of time and effort to track say in Barkov's example 2.6m of deferred salary...your team won't get away from it..it just gets added to a future year and thinking league wide: a GM may if we allow the Cap hit instead of the AAV or whatever...be willing or not realize that he is messing up his numbers for a future year in order to have a sweet year this year...and when the chickens come home to roost, that GM may not even be in the league, with about 10% turnover a year it is possible...so for a keeper league with revolving GM's over time...simple is better or you could have a great year this year and the next gm has to be in the basement for 3 years to pay for it if your fired or quit next summer. Long winded rant..but explains where I think on it.
Canuck Surfer
Makes sense just cuz who is going to track all the indelible little figures? Hey, I'm starting to like my team. Some high performing vets and some up and comers. Just need to come home rounding it out. Do wish I had a stronger defence for anyone that wants a trade? How RU feeling PO? (and what does it look like these days...) I do wonder when actual bodies and names get traded, not just draft pic's flying about.
