Was looking at the Wade Redden rule that we had and I was thinking we should maybe put a minimum of $2M or $3Mcontract being buried on that rule? Would make much more sense imo. Seems like a disaster to keep track of.. Thoughts?

This. I'm all for realism, but some things should be different then the NHL, to optimize a 'fantasy league'. 2m is good, maybe even 1.5m. Anything higher, than you know the team is in a desperate situation, so don't give them the option to dump a 3-4m contract, but anything in the 1.5-2m range should be fine.

Hmm, I have at least one contract that someday will probably have to be buried...

Bloody veterans! :bigblush:

What a goon. That was round 25, there are only prospects and depth players left. Can't stop people from being ignorant.

Also love how you conveniently left out the fact that he scored at a 16 point clip last year in the lockout season.

I was just having fun with a barb / responding to a post.

Agh, seriously you are more right than wrong.

Take a look.

Wpg Jets;

Sean Monahan / Joe Thornton / Marty St Louis

Brian Gionta / Alecsander Barkov / Tanner Pearson

Brooks Laich / Nick Bjugstad / Tom Wilson

Matt Fraser / Jarret Stoll / Kasperi Kapanen

Zach Boychuck / William Karlson

Also in hunt but likely Moose & juniors: Curtis McKenzie, possibly (not likely) Nick Ehlers

That's an extremely good young forward crew, anchored by some solid veterans IMO?

Duncan Keith / Dan Hamhuis

Kris Russell / Tim Erixon

JM Liles / Alex Petrovic

Jonathon Blum

Also in hunt but likely Moose; Matt Tennyson

LTIR; Kimmo Timonen

Anti Niemi

Ben Scrivens

$68,665,129 AAV cap spent, but that's all 27 players above incl Timonen competing for spots. It does not incl non roster guys; Brycen Martin, Thatcher Demko and Jordan Schmaltz. Aprox $7.5 in real life cap remaining depending on injuries and how rooks impact the 23.

We'll see how it goes? Could be some roster spots in 23 filled by guys not actually on an NHL roster getting points any given nights, especially on D... That's where your point is valid JT.

What do you got?

Caboose is currently in Maui, we will make a decision on the Wade Redden rule after the draft. We don't want to change it now with only 5 rounds to go.

If you choose to take a player with a high cap at this point just assume the Wade Redden rule will be in effect for him. Don't take a player at this point assuming you will get Cap Relief if you put him on waivers.

That goes specifically for 1 forward who is left and nobody is taking because of his contract. If he is selected he will keep the same contract he has with the Wade Redden rule in effect for the entirety of his contract. If he is not selected then he is a free agent and teams may offer him a contract.
