Stacked Utica Team Next Year

So who else is excited to have such a stacked team down in Utica next year? I know it's a ways away, but here is my projected line-up (depending on who gets signed):

Shinkaruk-Fox-Grenier

Zalewski-Cassels-De Fazio

Archibald-Gaunce-Ferriero

Friesen-Lain-Mallet

Kenins

Tommernes-Blain

Andersson-McEneny

Hutton-Huskins

Now, personally I think that Lain and/or Archibald could be on the Canucks 4th line for at least portions of next year, so things may change a little depending on what happens there. If that's the case, we might re-sign Pelletier and/or O'Reilly who were our two leading scorers in Utica this year. Either way, pretty solid line-up with a good mix of rookies and experience to help the youngsters along.

I would expect Utica to have a few more veterans on the team, it wont be purely prospects on the farm team. You need experience and players to help the young players understand what it means to be a pro.

I hope they keep Pelletier, O'Reilly, Biega, Huskins, DeFazio and Ferriero.

yes cassells will be back in junior unless he surprises again...but point is very valid, utica will be very exciting to watch and good for the utica fans!

big year for green, his job really starts this coming season with a few of the high picks joining his team...this is where development will really matter.

seeing what he seems to have accomplished with Jensen and Corrado, seems like only good things can come from him, I was surprised from the selection as him as a coach and worried when I heard but he seems like he was an incredible pick.

I can see him being much like AV in 3-4 years and perhaps this was their plan all along...coach the young guys and when they are ready he comes up with them...time will tell as will his track record..

Would have loved to see Shink, Horvat, Cassells, this years pick, Corrado, Guance all play together in the AHL for a year or two first but given the level of talent of some of those guys and ages I really can't see many of them together until the NHL....Shink will be the first call up if he doesn't make it, Horvat will either be here or in Junior and he will make the jump straight, Corrado first d call up next year if he doesn't make it...so really it will be Gaunce, Cassels together if its beyond this year in the AHL. This year's pick will likely go back to Junior for another year then one year in the AHL.

Team should be exciting, but I'd say "stacked" is a little premature.

Lots of young rookies (i.e., Shinkaruk, Gaunce, Fox, Zalewski, and McEneny), so it's going to be an inexperienced team. As has been mentioned, it'd be good to bring back some of the AHL vets, whether as Canucks signings or Comets signings.

I petition for Bomber to come out of retirement to be player-assistant coach to help the young guys on defence.

RFAs: Kassian, Tanev, Schroeder, Weber, Dalpe, Andersson, Archibald, Cannata, Sauve, deFazio - who gets re-signed? Personally, I can see all being re-signed, or qualified (one or the other).

UFAs: Santorelli, Alberts, Biega, Ferreiro, Pelletier, Stuart, Welsh - who gets re-signed? I can see Santorelli, Biega, Ferreiro being re-signed. Pelletier would be great for AHL veteran presence, so maybe he gets re-signed by the Canucks, or he signs with Utica on an AHL contract.

If these re-signings occur, then yah, the depth on the Comets will be very good for AHL standards.

Might want to do some research into the CHL rules.

Good line up but I think Corrado starts in Utica unless Vancouver moves one of their top six defensemen during the off season.

Would also like to see Sauve cut loose and bring back Huskins.
