*Buzzsaw*
Looking at the highlight reels for all the top rated players, I have to say I'm the most impressed overall by Samuel Bennett. He has speed, puck handling, shot, and sees the ice very well, not selfish. Downside is that he is on the small side... he has room to grow, but likely won't top out over 185 lbs. Of course, it's tough to tell in this draft year... which people are calling 'weak'. He looks like an excellent choice for a team which wants a playmaker who they can base a powerplay around, someone who if given a couple decent sized wingers with hands could provide a excellent future 1st line. Would it be worthwhile trading a significant component of the Canucks existing lineup to acquire him? Comments?
BanTSN
People have called him Gilmour-esque. There are some similar traits in their games certainly. But as usual for this draft, "don't expect the same skill/output/talent, just comparing styles." Like how Ehlers is supposedly Bure, style-only, yet misunderstanding that leads some people to believe that he has superstar potential. Lol.Anyway, Bennett is good. Not sure if he has a future as a center, but a LWer definitely. No, it's not worth trading up to get him. There's nobody in this draft worth doing that for. Derp...
I would be happy if we traded up for Bennett, he's a great all rounder with more upside as a 1C than anyone we currently have.

Baggins
Matt Cooke can look like an all-star with a highlight reel. Better to listen to those that have watched the prospects playing full games all year long.

He could drop to 4th or 5th.
elvis15
Why is this Canucks Talk? He'll go in the top 5 and we have the 6th overall pick. But I think he's not up to a Henrik level but potentially better/more consistent offensively than Kesler if he were to reach his ceiling. More gritty than Reinhart, but still with quality skills and hockey IQ. Reinhart has a little higher potential ceiling though.
NucksCup2015
More upside then Henrik or kesler ? i think the point was more upside compared to the center 'PROSPECTS' folks.. so many people on here lack the intelligence to read between the lines / comprehend the point....its like you need to be spoon fed. i am pretty sure the guy wasn't saying bennett is currently better than henrik / kesler... HunterHorvatBure
Bennett will be passed on by 5 teams, and we draft him.
NucksCup2015
Bennett will be passed on by 5 teams, and we draft him. never know...this draft will be weird... seriously after ekblad and reinhart (and probably simply because of his name/pedigree) its a real toss up....there are no 'guarantees' after Ekblad (who is as close to a sure bet as there is this year).... even reinhart could flop no one knows....so there may be some off the board picks, especially if you consider team needs.... Florida - no need for centers and a real need for D - my guess is they take Ekblad. But also rumours they may go after Ehlers as they really need an offensive/dynamic winger and Florida's GM apparently loves this kid Buffalo - need everything so they will likely take BPA / highest ranked so that means Eklbad or Reinhart Edmonton - everything but more in need of size and vets (could they trade down - yes and this is my bet/hope the nucks see this and offer a nice package along with a swap of picks, which isnt a big drop, especially if they go down the board for size, they simply get more players and still get the same player they need. They dont need offensive dynamos.). If they keep their pick I see it being Draisatl - size. Calgary - Burke and his annoying term 'truculance'. They will take size, again could go off the board and draft Ritchie/Virtanen could also see them taking Tuch - Burke has a strong affinity for Americans....as he is one...ie look at the leafs...Van Reims/Kessel/Gardiner...don't be surprised if he trades down/goes down the board for a lower ranked player Islanders will take BPA then us...we could very well end up seeing a Bennet fall to us or Dal Colle
Mathew Barzal
Henrik is a fall-of-famer. Leaning towards no. Barely. The Sedins peaked for two seasons then dropped back down to PPG. They're going to get in as a duo because of their novelty.
*Buzzsaw*
The real issue here is that the Canucks actually have a pick which is pretty high in the draft. We have an opportunity to move up into the top 5 by offering the sixth pick and a regular. Say Hansen. Considering the fact the crop this year is subject to a lot of debate, other teams may be willing to make that exchange. This was the season from hell, what with our injuries, CAP problems, poor management and off the wall coaching, next year I expect the Canucks to place higher, probably will make the playoffs... unless Trevor trades Kesler and doesn't bring in a starting goaltender. So we won't likely get as high a pick next year or any opportunity to tradeup. So this may be the only real chance in the next few seasons we will get to draft a decent player, maybe even a gamechanger. If we do trade our sixth place and a starting player for a chance at Bennet, we could have a real foundation player for the future. Even if Bennet is only a 2nd liner, we don't lose anything significant. Remember we traded up for the Sedins.
Erik Karlsson
I want Dal Colle or Ehlers. Undecided on Ritchie and Virtanen. Not really impressed with Bennett and Draisaitl looks a little too slow for me and seems to use his size advantage, that won't work as well in the NHL and everyone is a lot faster. He looks as slow as Hodgson to me, well, that's just, like, my opinion man.
Watermelon
Barely. The Sedins peaked for two seasons then dropped back down to PPG. They're going to get in as a duo because of their novelty. Thats pretty stupid of you to say. These guys changed the game. They would still continue to dominate if it weren't for the NHL putting a, "Do whatever you want" sign in their backs

VegasCanuck
We need a high end defense prospect more than anything IMO. Trade up for Ekblad or down for Fleury.
