carlweezer
Fair Warning, This is a best case scenario and based on stylistic way they play the game, NOT, I repeat NOT on who they will become in the future. Purely style and overall game comparison. These comparables are based on the hundreds of games i watched this season, including international play. They are also based on opinions of published writers and scouts. Enjoy and feel free to respectfully disagree. Ive also arranged them in my most updated draft ranking. Of course it can change after the combine coming up 1.Ekblad - Brent Seabrook 2.Reinhart- Jonathan Toews 3.Bennett- Doug Gilmour 4.Nylander- Jeff Skinner 5.Draisaitl- Kopitar/Joe Thornton 6.MDC- Alex Kovalev ( in prime and when interested) 7.Ehler-Patrick Kane 8.Ritchie- Lucic 9.Perlini- Marian Hossa 10.Virtanen- Iginla 11.Fleury- Jay Bouwmeester 12.Mcann- Patrice Bergeron 13.Kapanen- Phil Kessel 14.Barbashev- Ryan Kesler 15.Tuch- Eric Staal 16.Kempe- Brandon Dubinsky 17.Fiala- Claude Giroux 18.Robby Fabbrri- Theo Fleury 19.Connor Bleakley- Mike Richards 20.Honka- Dan Boyle 21.Dylan Larkin- Ryan Callaghan 22.Goldobin- Alexander Semin 23,Roland Mckeown- Wade Redden 24.Nick Schmaltz- Mike Ribiero 25.Sonny Milano- TJ Oshie 26.Josh Ho Sang- Nazem Kadri with Cody Hodgson's ego. 27.Brendan Lemieux- Brad Marchand 28.Scherbak- Kyle Okposo 29..Pastrnak- Ondrej Palat 30,Anthony Deangelo- Mike Green So who should the Canucks draft at 6? Should they trade a core player and pick up another 1st rounder? will any of these players drop and be available at 36?
Langdon Algur
Funny most writeups I've seen compare Fluery to Brent Seabrook not Ekbland. I've also seen Ekbland compared to Bouwmeester.Don't know much about Bennett goes he really play as rough as game as Killer did?
touchable
Shouldn't this be in "Junior Hockey Discussion"? Doesn't have anything to do with the Canucks. That being said, I think a better comparison for Reinhart would be Joe Thornton (rather than Toews). Also, Ehler might be more of a Martin St. Louis type player than a Patrick Kane. But that's just my opinion!

Reinhart also plays alot around the net during the powerplay as where Big Joe likes to control the game on the half board.
FlyLow_
Oh please Draisaitl fall to us, or it would be nice to drop back and pick up Fluery and acquire another first to get Tuch. Hoping Honka falls to 36...but doubtful.

TOMapleLaughs
Lucic fought often. Ritchie does not.

But that's just my opinion! Hes far too big and fast to be St Louis , but then again St Louis won 2 scoring titles, a cup, a gold medal and a hart trophy. Im sure Ehlers would be honored by the comparison. Most scouts say his game is very much like Patrick Kanes.
Absent Canuck
Ehlers sounds more like a Marty St Louis. I think Virtanen looks a lot like Raffi Torres , but there is no way Virt will go 5th overall. Ritchie reminds me of Kyle Beach. Almost exact same size and pedigree. Magikal
If we find a way to trade up for Bennett or Reinhart I will be so stoked. If not then I pray for Draisaitl
RonMexico
I think you have over-rated every player in the first round. I see a few Drukens, Antoskis and Polaseks in that mix...most of them will likely never come close to those comparisons above.
WonderTwinPowers
Lucic fought often. Ritchie does not. Just because he doesn't fight often, doesn't mean he can't win a fight when needed.
Absent Canuck
Just because he doesn't fight often, doesn't mean he can't win a fight when needed. One of the key elements we want from our 6th overall draft pick is to fight , hit and sit in the penalty box.
Warhippy
It might just be me but... I don't want to keep drafting players that are always being compared to someone else. I want to draft the players everyone is compared to in the future

RonMexico
Did u not read the part when I said best case scenario Yes I did and none of them are accurate. Their junior style may appear similar but their NHL style will probably be no where close. I get that many us fancy ourselves as amateur scouts who desperately want to look back and claim they predicted something to be accurate, like a modern day Nostradamus, but these lists are just exercises in futility. NucksCup2015
Ehlers sounds more like a Marty St Louis. ehlers is 5'11 same size as Markus Naslund Joe Sakic Steve Yzerman to name a few not as small as St Louis..sorry
