PlayStation
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/report-teemu-selanne-would-consider-playing-for-jokerit-in-khl/ Anaheim Ducks forward Teemu Selanne has said the 2013-14 season would be his last in the NHL, but that doesnt necessarily mean hes done playing hockey for good. According to Igor Eronko, Selanne told Sport-Express.ru it would be a great scenario to finish his career playing for Jokerit, the team he started his career with and one based in the 43-year-olds home city of Helsinki. Teemu Selanne to Sport-Express.ru: 'It would be a great scenario to play one more season for my home team #Jokerit in #KHL ' #NHLDucks Igor Eronko (@IgorEronko) April 29, 2014 Selanne began his career playing for Jokerits junior club in 1987. He was then with their pro team from 1989 to 1992 before debuting in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets. Selanne also spent part of the 1994-95 campaign with Jokerit during the NHLs lockout that season. Jokerit has been a part of SM-Liiga, the Finnish Elite League, however the franchise will join the Kontiniental Hockey League in 2014-15. Former NHL star Jari Kurri would be the general manager of the team. Selanne and Kurri were teammates on Jokerit during the 1994 NHL lockout and represented their country together in several international tournaments. They were also teammates on the Ducks during the 1996-97 season. In 1,451 career regular season NHL games, Selanne has registered 684 goals (11th most in league history) and 1,457 points (15th most in league history). He has also added 85 points in 123 post-season games and won a Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007. Bet you thought I meant another NHL season!!! hockeyville88
He might as well eh? I mean he looks great out there. As long as it's not in the NHL. This season has sort of been like a farewell tour for him with fans in almost every building giving him an ovation to say goodbye. It would be very anticlimactic if he came back for another season and had to do it all over again
Lychees
It's kind of sad all the players I grew up watching and love are retired/retiring stage (Yzerman, Sakic, Lidstrom, Forsberg, Linden etc.) The NHL won't be the same without the Finnish Flash. It would be very anticlimactic if he came back for another season and had to do it all over again I don't think he looks all that good anymore, or at least compared to before. His shots aren't hitting the net, and if the Finnish Flash can't score anymore, it's a perfect time to hang up the gloves. If he still has the passion, "finnishing" it in the Elite League is a great idea.

He just cant compete with those guys. Played well at the Olympics, bigger ice may help him at this point in his career. Also I agree, coming back would be anticlimactic and wouldn't be as special this time around. Plus if he didn't have much of a good season, would hurt the last memories of him and how he went out. Rick Grimes
It would seem a little sacreligious to me for him to end his career in anything but a Ducks uniform - but, he can obviously still play the game as well as most 3rd/4th liners - with bursts of the ol' Finnish Flash to boot, and as much leadership and knowledge to pass on as anybody has ever had to pass on about the game. susraiders
It makes perfect sense to go back to Finland for his last year. I hope he does. I wish him all the best.
Gurn
Is Teemu the best ever Fin? I never watched Kurri much as I disliked Edmonton, but either way they are #1 and #2 methinks.

King Heffy
Is Teemu the best ever Fin? I never watched Kurri much as I disliked Edmonton, but either way they are #1 and #2 methinks. Kurri really changed his game later on his career and was a good defensive forward for the Ducks and Avs. Selanne was able to keep playing in an offensive role for much longer. Plum
The game after he got scratched he played very well IMO, he had speed and looked pretty intense on the forecheck.

It's pretty close but I would say Jari Kurri is the greatest Fin in NHL history,

A healthy scratch doesn't mean it is a bad thing.. Maybe he need a little break and a refresher...? It give players a good perspective on what's going on the ice while watching the game.
