Merci
Edler, 2nd, Hansen, Schroeder to TB for Paquette, Connolly, and TB 1st Paquette- 206lbs 6'01 http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=136773 Has the best +/- of any forward on TB AHL team in his first season, 40 points in 70 games, for comparison sake, Jensen had 20 points in 56 games his 2nd season. Good Gaunce like player, adds more depth to our lineup and not necessarily skill or scoring but a very likely sleeper pick that went in the 4th round. Connolly - 193 lbs 6'02 http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=107051 Teammate with Paquette and was basically a ppg player in his first 2 seasons of the AHL. A local boy that isn't entirely electrifying but is more depth to Utica and the Canucks for the next 3 years, he just turns 22 in a week The TB pick will add yet another player. This trade happens because since the Garrison signing he has been playing on his incorrect side, with Edler gone Garrison can excel to a level that was not displayed at all. We have young players like Tanev,Stanton, and Corrado that all deserve a role over Edler's play. His contract is amazing and players like Weber have earned a spot. Trading Edler snags us even more prospects that can turn into top 6 players for us. and our d core is formidable Hamhuis Bieksa Garrison Tanev Stanton Corrado Weber Subban Then Kesler to Detroit for Anthony Mantha This trade happens because all of the Canucks prospects so far lake any real game breaking offensive talent, Jensen can and so can Shinkaruk but they are still a gamble to reach that level. Anthony Mantha is a guaranteed 30 goal scorer that can pass and be a 1st line winger. Kesler would thrive in Detroit and would be the piece that wins the several veterans there. Players like Alfreddson and Legwand are desperate for a cup, so is Kesler, Detroit gives up one 20th overall pick and aquires the player that puts them over the edge. Canucks draft Nick Ritchie 6th overall Canucks prospect pool Mantha Horvat Shinkaruk Connolly Paquette Ritchie Gaunce Fox 25th overall 2014 Cassels Canucks in a few years Shinkaruk Henrik Mantha Ritchie Horvat Jensen Daniel Paquette Kassian Matthias Gaunce Connolly Burrows Richardson Fox Santorelli Higgins Hamhuis Bieksa Garrison Tanev Stanton Corrado Weber Subban
BananaMash
We're going to have five lines and two extra forwards in a few years? Neat. Jokes aside, I really don't think we're going to get Edler to waive. I could see Kesler waiving to Detroit, but I'm not even sure how to peg Kesler's value anymore. oldnews
Just a slight overpayment imo. Take Hansen and the pick out and it may still be a slight overpayment.
Easton76
Edler alone should get that deal done, if not we should keep him. No sense in trading him when his value is at an all-time low. And although Kesler has lots of value I don't think Detroit would trade Mantha.

Sugar baby watermelon
I'd love for these deals to happen, ecspecially that Detroit trade but I don't think they would give up Mantha, egads, that would blow everyones mind here if that deal went through
canadiangunner
No way do I trade kesler for mantha straight up. Not even close to the value you can get for kesler. Hate our own fans undervalue our players and over value all the "potential" superstars from other teams. Kesler is a guy that other gm's drool over and a minimum return of mantha, nyquist and first then we talk or its a no go.

Kesler isn't worth him heads up either.
