*Buzzsaw*
Matt Cooke may not have played the last games for the Wild but he was a key to the Wild win of the series. Tyson Barrie was the Avalanche's best defenseman during the regular season with the most goals and by far the best plus/minus, and he was on track for that kind of performance in the series when he was taken out. It was clear what was missing with the Avalanche in their losing games... they didn't have the back end stability they needed. What was missing was Tyson Barrie. Cooke should be permanently gone from the NHL. Unfortunately that won't happen, the League refuses to take headhunting out of the game. And for teams like the Canucks who get less than no respect from the Referees, this is bad news... other NHL players and coaches aren't stupid, they can see what works... and this means guys like Henrik and Daniel will continue to be targets. Wedge-tailed Eagle
Cooke just proves how easily the league can be fooled, such a clown.
ManUtd
Johnson was our best D during the regular season. Barrie was definitely our best offensive D and the best one in this series. Wild sure won that trade off and I'm sure would take it again if the situation presented itself. Hope karma comes back to bite them and the Hawks just absolutely eviscerate them. Going to be in tough playing a team that knows how to clear the puck and hold a lead.
bigbadcanucks
It makes me sick to my stomach (figuratively) that that monkey Cooke will play again this spring. Cooke represents all that is bad about hockey...this is the one and only time that I will be rooting for Keith to carve the POS rat Cooke up like a Christmas turkey. Thanks for letting me vent, CDC. I feel much better now.

Grapefruits
The league is a complete joke at this point. I'm almost at the point where I am done with NHL hockey. The league needs a complete overhaul.

BurgerKing
It pays to have guys who can take other players out. Worked for us in 2011 with Torres; Seabrook, Thornton. Sad but true.
Monty
Not defending Cooke, but if a team can't win a series because they are missing one player, then they weren't good enough in the first place. Missing multiple key players, that's different.
CB007
I'll say to the bitter end that trading away Matt Cooke was a bad idea, especially since we only got Matt Pettinger for it. Not resigning Torres was a bad idea too.
gizmo2337
Fair enough, Colorado may not have had enough depth, but that is just a bad trade off. I was really hoping (and expecting) to see Colorado make it to round 2.Colorado fan's have a lot of exciting hockey to look forward to in the coming years. Minnesota...meh...not so much. Missing multiple key players, that's different. Game 1: No 1st line center, 3rd line center, top 9 winger Game 2: No 1st line center, 3rd line center, top 9 winger Game 3: No 1st line center, 3rd line center, top 9 winger, top offensive D (1/2 the game) Game 4: No 1st line center, 3rd line center, top 9 winger, top offensive D Game 5: No 1st line center, 3rd line center, top 9 winger, top offensive D Game 6: 3rd line center, top 9 winger, top offensive D Game 7: 3rd line center, top 9 winger, top offensive D Hard to argue that isn't a pretty significant list of injuries. It wasn't losing Barrie on its own that lost the series. It was that the injury was the straw that broke the camels back and there just wasn't the depth to really compete anymore. It's hard to necessarily call Mitchell and Tanguay "key" players but having them pushes guys back where they belong in the lineup and others out altogether. Duchene coming back pushed us back to a compete-able level and if Varly plays even half as well as he did all year we win game 7.
Chalky
I don't think Cooke's ratness is what won them the series but I do think there is no way that POS rat loser Dbag MFing waste of space should play another game in the NHL. He has made a mockery of the game and is the shame of our nation.

Darkstar
Colorado lost their puck-moving presence with the loss of Tyson Barrie. The series was over the second that happened.
