Sharks' Meltdown Not Good For Kes Trade

Whether they fire McLellan/ Wilson or not, there is a good chance they are going to change the core, so possibly one or two of Marleau, Thornton and less likely; Pavelski or Couture will be traded. One or two centers available for same teams interested in Kesler.

marleau and thornton carry almost a 7 million cap hit each and are aging stars

kesler is 5 million cap hit and in his prime. safe to say kesler will be way more in demand

Agreed, but there are legit options for those teams if they feel asking price for Kes is too much.

Philly and Pittsburgh are having enough cap issues as it is. I doubt they want to pay 2 million more for a guy who's a cancer in the dressing room, bad defensively, and sleeps through the playoffs.

I dont see this having much effect but I could be wrong. Sharks wont trade Thornton or Marleau. Kesler will get what hes worth or he wont be dealt. Id take either one of Pouliot or Couturier with a high pick.

at this point, philly wouldn't trade couturier for kesler straight up, and they're right not to.

I'd agree with that point. The #10 pick and a prospect from Anaheim would be tough to turn down, but I'm not sure they'd trade Kes within the division, especially with divisional playoffs back.
