-Stammer-
EA's really screwed it up this year, no EASHL and no GM Connected and you're still selling it for $70? Absolute BS
-Stammer-
I'd rather have EASHL than bad fan animations, good thing i'm getting it for ps3
»ғʀᴇsϟᴘʀıɴcᴇ«
I bought a PS4 pretty much just for EASHL lol. EA is a joke
D-Money
Part of me wonders if this was a calculated way to try to turn more players to HUT. It's far more profitable to EA. They have the built-in excuse this time (new system, no time - too busy with fan animations!), and a back-up for the die-hards (just stick with the PS3/XB360 version one last year). Either way, I think they underestimate the backlash.

However, being the new console, there may be people who don't buy the new game every year begin playing and without more options, play HUT and spend their money on packs. William_Clarkson
Is there no online shootouts as well? It's probably still there. I doubt they'd take out online versus mode (if they can run HUT, they have no excuse why online versus would be taken out), which includes shootouts I believe. I think in a Q&A EA said no one plays online shootout and it doesnt make them money so they are cutting it. @4:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwzgj_ppES0&list=UUuecAP3ka1uR1Y4sPTnuPQQ
MusclePharm
it's all about the money for EAim in the minority but i disagree. EA would have made more money if they put eashl in the game, even if it was a glitchy version people would buy the game. For this reason i believe ea when they say they couldnt get it ready in time since they had to start from scratch. That being said, they should have invested more time in getting eashl ready rather than worrying about the crown and arenas such. Also people should keep in mind that the nhl dev team is very small compared to the fifa team so making comparisons is not fair.

Monty
Wow, did not expect this to happen. I mean, I was fully expecting for there to be no upgrades to BAP or BEAGM; if there's anything I've learned about those two modes, it's that if EA cared about those two modes, they would have made a change from 2005. However, no EASHL and GM Connected is just bizarre. I mean, I never played those modes, but that's because I enjoy my own solo, NHL playing experience. I understand that they are popular and have a huge audience. So the fact that they completely got rid of them is mind boggling. I mean, sure, if they were worried that the modes were going to suck, ala GTAV online, then I understand. However, the "improvements" that they spent so much time on are: new jerseys, puck dynamics, some of the crowd sits, you can see vendors, you can see some of the players skin under their gloves, and more authentic arenas. That's it. I don't know about you guys, but once I'm actually playing the game, I could care less how "authentic" the arena looks. Sure, an authentic arena and a guy sitting down biting his nails would be cool additions if EA literally had nothing left to improve on. But the game, graphics aside, is literally a decade behind where it should be at. I mean, surely EA can't be pleased with the product they are putting out this year. Also people should keep in mind that the nhl dev team is very small compared to the fifa team so making comparisons is not fair. Yet they still charge you the same amount for it. If it was a lesser game, and they accept that it's a lesser game, then why would they do that? Maybe their group is somehow so criminally understaffed that they couldn't even push out core aspects of their game. Or maybe this group is doing something wrong when they fail to improve their game in any legitimate sense year after year. All I know is that this complacency has coincided with the lack of competition, in the demise of the 2k series. When they're your only option they don't have to try. This is EA's MO. As a customer there's not much you can do. Either you buy in and confirm they don't need to try, or opt out and risk their developer group getting even smaller. It's a lose-lose, and the slope gets steeper and slipperier. Always happens with EA. The best thing that anyone can do is complain loudly and hope that they listen to the concerns. It won't really change until another hockey game option exists though.

Tangelos
The more people that play HUT = more $$$$. I love playing HUT but try to spend as little money as possible. I'd love to play hut but the AI in nhl games are among the worst I've ever seen in a video game. It's borderline unplayable. Until they fix that, ea won't be getting a dime from me in hut
