smokes
Wow a goal and an assist in such an important game three. That's stepping up. 4 points in seven playoff games. I',m starting to feel like the Canucks got fleeced in the Weise - Diaz trade. Anyways hope Weise keeps going.
AriGold
4th liner + bench under torts. 3rd line breakaway specialist with the Canadians....
Mathew Barzal
Wow a goal and an assist in such an important game three. That's stepping up. 4 points in seven playoff games. I',m starting to feel like the Canucks got fleeced in the Weise - Diaz trade. Anyways hope Weise keeps going. Weise was never going to work here, especially under Torts. Montreal plays a fast, offensive puck possession system and his speed is exploited consequently. You'd never see him do that with dump, chase and turnover offence. Of course you could say likewise for Diaz, but he never got playing time anyways so...
CB007
Good for him for killing the Bruins, but we don't really need him any more. I wish we had gotten more than a 5th from NYR for Diaz though. Their PP sucks so much he is now their PP specialist.
Nuxfanabroad
Rather we'd kept Weise, even over Raymond. Glad to see he's doing so well..2 GWG's!!
Spoosh
Glad to see him doing well in Montreal. But I'm not overly disappointed about him going. He had something, but just didn't fit in here anymore. Especially with how Torts was using his fourth line in the first half of the season.

What a stupid trade we could of used a couple game winners
elvis15
I liked Weise while he was here, but there were too many nights where he wasn't that effective. He sure had nights like that for us as well though, where he'd put in a nice goal, but then he wouldn't forecheck, hit or generally anything much all that well the next several games. This isn't really all on Torts either (as the thread created just after this one suggests) since Weise had the same consistency problems under AV to some extent. How many times did we hear this: "Weise is having a strong game tonight, what's wrong that he can't figure this out other nights?" I wouldn't have minded keeping him, even over Sestito actually, but Weise was getting frustrated with how he was used at times this past year. Part of that falls to Torts I guess, but Weise wasn't innocent in his play either.
apollo
Weise was never going to work here, especially under Torts. Of course you could say likewise for Diaz, but he never got playing time anyways so... no... He worked here. When he was traded he was leading in points of players with under 10 minutes a game played. Torts didn't like him personally. Glad torts is toast. nomz
My problem with saying Weise didn't work with our system is that our system didn't work. Dumping and chasing all day with two-and-a-half lines makes a team spiral down the standings. Heck, I'd argue our roster was skilled enough to compensate for our missing offensive system and prevent us from scraping the bottom of the barrel. Tortorella's Rant
4th liner + bench under torts. 3rd line breakaway specialist with the Canadians.... He was on pace for over 20 points here as a fourth liner.. Stupid trade.

mrhopeless
"Good for him for killing the Bruins, but we don't really need him any more."- Dalpe was way worse... so remind me again why he was traded. (Hint; Torts)

What a stupid trade we could of used a couple game winners We weren't playoff bound with him anyway soooo. Yeah. Glad he's doing good, it was his dream to play for Canadiens. Better fit for him there, then here. Best of luck to him going forward.
JeremyCuddles
"Good for him for killing the Bruins, but we don't really need him any more." - Dalpe was way worse... so remind me again why he was traded. (Hint; Torts) He was traded around the time we had Bieksa, Tanev and a Stanton injured, hint we needed a d-man.
oldnews
Glad he's over there helping the Habs. This franchise will recover from the loss of Dale Weise haha. And has done alright in the 5th round of the draft - Corrado, Hutton and Cederholm are all pretty solid prospects this franchise has taken recently in the 5th. Drewismyname
It was always clear that Weise had what it takes to be one of those fourth liners who made a team better. Kinda like what Cody would have been if he accepted a third line role. Teams that succeed are the teams that have players who can be better than their current roles accepting and working hard at their lesser roles sacrificing. Remember Anaheim's fourth line when they won? Didn't they have lindross or something? Flame away if I'm wrong.

smokes
I think it was Torts not liking the guy. We picked him up off waivers from the Rangers didn't we. When Torts was the coach.
