TheRussianRocket.
www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/canadiens-fuming-over-lucic-spear-on-emelin/Canadiens fuming over Lucic spear on Emelin MONTREAL Another spearing incident involving Boston Bruins winger Milan Lucic had members of the Montreal Canadiens front office fuming in the wake of Game 3. The play went largely undetected in the third period of Montreals 4-2 victory Tuesday night. After carrying the puck into the offensive zone and having it knocked off his stick by Alexei Emelin, Lucic jabbed the Habs defenceman in the stomach with 12:05 remaining in the game. He wasnt penalized. Those two players have a long history of run-ins with one another, including a March 24 incident where Lucic speared Emelin between the legs a play he wasnt punished for. The NHL then fined Lucic $5,000 in the first round after he viciously speared Detroit Red Wings defenceman Danny Dekeyser between the legs on April 18. At that time, interim league disciplinarian Stephane Quintal didnt feel that he could levy a suspension against Lucic because he hadnt received a warning from the department of player safety following the first Emelin incident. However, the Bruins forward acknowledged to reporters that he was a repeat offender when it came to spearing.Ive been in the league for seven years, and I think Ive only done that three times, he said. I dont know why I did it. The NHL was aware of the latest incident, but no discipline hearing had been scheduled for Lucic as of late Wednesday morning, according to a source. Montreal leads the series 2-1 heading into Game 4 on Thursday night. Lucic is part of a Bruins top line that has struggled to create offence at even strength against the Habs thus far. He is third on the team in playoff scoring with seven points in eight games this spring. Bush league. He speared Emelin before the playoffs, then got DeKesyee in the 1sr round where he was fined $5k and does it again to Emelin in round 2 and is off the hook. Just mesmerizing how inconsistent the league is. Here's the 1st incident with Emelin and DeKesyer: Here's last nights spear on Emelin again: Last nights wasn't as bad as the previous ones but it was a spear nonetheless and Emelin felt it on the bench according to his facial expression and reaction. Lucic, the best PF in the game but the most classless one too. Don't get why he cant just clean up his game a bit...would be much better for his rep and how opponents see him. Dirt bag of a player who can't take getting hit or a loss and takes it out by handing out cheap shots.
apollo
He won't be suspended. Although he should... but he won't. I puke every time I see him play.

Actually caught him between the legs and a bit on the stomach on the way up. I don't get how he's not fined or suspended more often. That was Kassian, he's gone without a doubt. Kassian would have a life time ban if he did that and would also get blamed for the Donald sterling incident
Crimson-JH
And some people on here want him to come to Vancouver and play for the Canucks...
elvis15
Not as bad as the first one so on it's own I don't think it'd be much apart from a penalty on the ice (which wasn't called) but then factored in with his recent fine making him a repeat offender, I'd think they could look at more. If Chara can sandwich someone's head between the board and get away with it, the spearing is nothing. like others had said in this thread, Kassian will be fine or suspend if he does what Lucic did in the playoffs

Where's Wellwood
It wasn't actually that bad, but it still looks bad on him. And he wonders why we don't like him anymore. There's a reason the city turned on you Lucic, and the evidence will only mount as his career goes on.
TheRussianRocket.
The worst part is the guy clearly has a problem which he acknowledged but doesn't know why he did whag he did yet the league hasn't in this latest incident. He says he doesn't know why he did it...are you serious? That's a clear problem. That's like a heavy drinker drinking and saying he doesn't know why he does it...pretty obvious there's something wrong there and most likely with Lucic. spook007
How somebody still wants Lucic to play for the canucks is beyond me. He would be suspended constantly. The inconsistantcy continues, when it concerns Bruins players, but as long as the fans keeps buying the tickets and shirts, nothing will change... The owners won't change a thing. Dogbyte
I can't believe how disgusting Bruins hockey is and how they are allowed to get away with it. There are literally 3-4 minute segments where they don't contact without spearing, slashing, crosschecking, or putting opposing players in danger. This league really is a joke. spook007
Somebody needs to "bertuzzi" this guy... He's just ridiculous Thats just the point. If anyone does anything like that to a Bruin, penalties are called immediately and suspensions very likely... But yeah there's a few of those pukes I would like seeing done. chrisbanks
so every other player from here on out is allowed to give these little jabs after hits but lucic is just awful when he does it ? there was nothing similar to last nights little jab to either of his low blows from behind... what happend last night is sonmthing that happens dozens of times a game....the fact any of you want a suspension from what he did last night is ridiculous and its just more blind hate for any bruin player .
