OrcaGuy76
Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself.. Names Todd and I'm from Northeast Indiana, roughly 3 hours from Detroit. I've started getting into hockey over the last couple years of which I wasn't sure of the team I wanted to follow.. Obviously living close to Detroit I went to a few games with friends but wasn't feeling it... My grandparents are from Boston so I've been to Bruins games before, but again, just not feeling it... I've watched the Canucks since the cup run against the Bruins and, over the course of the season just started watching more and more of the Canucks as the season progressed. I've decided to follow the Canucks as my team. So, just wanted to throw that out there and say I am excited to see what the Canucks have in store going forward. Part of what attracted me to your team is the passion and excitement I've seen from the fanbase since I've started getting into hockey.. Any other Canucks fans that are also Red Sox and or Patriots fans?

Tearloch7
Welcome aboard .. am a Brady and Big Poppy fan, but only cheer for the Pats and Sox against certain teams .. but, I am a long time Canuck fan .. they may break your heart, but you'll always come back for more. Meanwhile .. * troll alert * .. some folks on here are as obstinate as Job .. they will automatically take the opposite position to yours just to mess with you .. sorta like Democrats and GOP. A lot of knowledgeable, compassionate and caring folks here, too .. a reflection on Society. Speak your mind and learn to laugh ..

Any other Canucks fans that are also Red Sox and or Patriots fans? Welcome to the roller coaster madness! One moment we're riding high, next we're off the rails! I've been a fan of 3 teams since the mid 70's: The Canucks The Bombers (CFL) and The Pats! Sorry, I don't care for baseball (liked playing it) nor Basketball. Gross-Misconduct
Cool to hear from American hockey fans, especially American Canuck fans. Welcome. So what do you think, should we trade Kelser?

theminister
Welcome to the site and the fan base! We have our good and bad qualities like any group of people. I hope people give you the fair benefit of the doubt. As long as you maintain keen interest and enthusiasm I think you'll have a good time. We have quite diverse group here, including fans of many teams, as well Canuck fans scattered all over the world. This is at the top of most used NHL team message boards so it's a pretty busy place at times. Despite this it can still feel like a small community much of the time. And no….. I can't stand any team from N.E. I'm a Jays and Seahawks fan and can only cheer for the BoSox if it's the playoffs and they are playing the Yankees. FYI, take a good look at the Board Rules and feel fee to ask for advice or what have you any time you want. Good Luck! / Edit: And, yes, most of the Canadian stereotypes are true. Bring beer and bacon.

OrcaGuy76
Thanks for all the replies all. I'm stoked to hang out and chat hockey and everything else.. As far as the trolls go, nothing new there. They're all over the net as is.. Lol again, thanks for the welcome! Much appreciated.
theminister
Just to be clear, that's Canadian beer and Canadian bacon. I didn't say water and pig fat. But, I think they've got good bacon in Indiana. Beer….. Im' not so sure.

elvis15
if you're new to hockey i recommend another forum if u actually want to gain some knowledge about it lol Maybe start by not listening to this guy! But check out the different forums, Canucks Talk can have more of the worse posters, but there's plenty of intelligent life out there too. Welcome, and here's hoping you get to see the Canucks come from a down year and build back into a team that can (and will) win the cup! Just to be clear, that's Canadian beer and Canadian bacon. I wouldn't turn down a nice Mirror Pond pale ale from Deschutes Brewery in Portland... nice thick cut bacon - wherever it's from - is fine by me too! OrcaGuy76
I've been in many forums, but this one sticks out like a lovable ugly Christmas sweater: CDC is cozy and filled with equal parts wonderful and crazy people. You might find that we complain about everything, including this forum, but I am sure even the posters that bitch the most find some sort of redeeming quality as they stick around for years. All the cool people hang out at White Noise and play mafia, in case you wanted to know the alpha posters. The Red Sox have won 3 world titles in the last 10 years but a large portion of the fanbase does nothing but complain about the team, owners, etc... I think a lot of people just take pleasure in stirring the pot and starting trash topics on forums to fire people up.. It's kinda sad really.. Haha, but it is what it is, right?
