2inthecup
Been reading a lot of proposals lately, here is my take: To BUF - Gaunce, Corrado, 2014 6th Overall To Van - 2014 2nd Overall We give up a future 2-way line 3 centre with a possible #2 potential, a future top 4-6 defence and potential top 6 prospect. We get back a future potential #1 centre To TB - Edler To Van - Purcell, Connelly Purcell is a good setup man for 2nd or 3rd line, cap hit is close to elders which makes a deal more likely, Connelly is a project with his limited NHL success so far. To Chi - Kesler To Van - Leddy, Teravainen, 1st 2014 Leddy is expendable as a 5/6 guy playing behind Odujya in Chicago, last year of his contact. Tera is a top notch prospect. Also, I read an article from a Chicago beat writer back just after the deadline saying there was a deal on the table for Kesler which included Leddy, Teravainen and Andrew Shaw but fell through as the canucks had to make a deal for Edler to another team to make the cap work. To Tor - Tanev To Van - Kadri Both young, Toronto gets a top 2 defence which they will have to resign at $3+.....we get a confident/cocky #2 centre to replace Kesler with the potential to push for the number 1 spot. This is risky due to Kadris perceived issues and giving up such a proven steady resource in Tanev but we need scoring and youth up front badly. Sign Niskanen $6,000,000 Re-sign Kassian $3,000,000 X 3 - Bridge Contract Re-sign Santorelli $2,000,000 Call up Horvat if ready Room to move a couple of other players for picks or keep as injury reserve. Alexandre Burrows ($4.500m) / Henrik Sedin ($7.000m) / Nicklas Jensen ($0.863m) Daniel Sedin ($7.000m) / Nazem Kadri ($2.900m) / Teuvo Teravainen ($0.925m) Zack Kassian ($3.000m) / Bo Horvat ($0.894m) / Teddy Purcell ($4.500m) Chris Higgins ($2.500m) / Brad Richardson ($1.150m) / Shawn Matthias ($1.750m) Tom Sestito ($0.750m) / Mike Santorelli ($2.000m) / Jannik Hansen ($2.500m) DEFENSEMENRyan Stanton ($0.550m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) Matt Niskanen ($6.000m) / Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) Jason Garrison ($4.600m) / Nick Leddy ($2.700m) GOALTENDERSJacob Markstrom ($1.200m) Eddie Lack ($1.150m) BUYOUTSDavid Booth ($0.000m) Keith Ballard ($0.000m) RETAINED SALARIES (1.13% of upper limit)Roberto Luongo ($0.800m—15.00%) ------CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)(estimations for 2014-15)SALARY CAP: $71,100,000; CAP PAYROLL: $68,332,500; BONUSES: $1,350,000CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $2,767,
2inthecup
mistake in title, should be VAN-BUF
canucks155
Pretty good trades. While the Sabres 1 may be fair in value, I think they need a SUPERSTAR and not good players and thus they would reject it. Also, I doubt Chicago gives up TT. The rest are good.
2inthecup
I would say the Chicago trade could be more likely if they don't have success in the playoffs, they seem like they are limited up the middle. Haven't watched enough of them this year in the playoffs but i remember them using Hanzel last year in the #2 spot...i think Shaw was there this year when he's healthy
MRAY
I like these trades but BUF would probably want that stud rookie. Chicago are in need in a second line centre. Kes would play with Kane.
Pears
I like it. However I'd make a couple adjustments to the line up: Sedin - Sedin - Purcell Teravainen - Kadri - Kassian Higgins - Horvat - Jensen Matthias - Richardson - Burrows Hansen/Sestito, Santorelli Hamhuis - Niskanen Garrison - Bieksa Stanton - Leddy Lack Markstrom I must say I really like that depth. Trading Tanev would also allow us to draft Ekblad since we're moving up.
Nuxfanabroad
Lots of movement, that's for sure. Overall, pretty decent work. Get younger & more skilled.
JeremyCuddles
Wait a second, these are actually pretty decent. That's not how it works around here. Throw at least one Booth Schroeder and a 2nd trade in there. Geez.

FlyLow_
I don't think that gets it done for buffalo's pick, but love the chicago trade even though we'd basically turn them into a dynasty. I don't want Kadri, nor do I like the return for Edler. If that's all that Edler gets us we keep him, his value will go up.
canuck_forever
I posted that exact same Chicago trade a little while ago, I like the other trades too. Nice work!
