Desjardins' Mustache
I have one question. 1. Do any of my fellow CDC user think its even possible for Geno or Neal to be traded during or after the draft? Please Discuss, Canuck2
Xbox
Maybe Neal could be had, but not Malkin. He's their expensive center who actually shows up in the playoffs.
Absent Canuck
Crosby gets traded before Malkin at this point. I dont want James Neal unless its underpayment.
Gstank29
I hear its Neal and Letang who are on the trade block. Van Neal Pouliot Pitts Kesler?

Me_
Crosby gets traded before Malkin at this point. I dont want James Neal unless its underpayment. I was thinking the same... That disappearing act for 18 playoff games in a row is making Toews the go-to guy of the NHL. With the Lenieux visit, which doesn't seem to have gone too well for Crosby, perhaps there is something there. But I'll take Malkin or Crosby any day. And pay the price for it. No price is too big to pay.
timberz21
I really hope you're not serious... lol, Pittsburgh traded Staal for Sutter and Pouliot. Neal is comparable to Sutter in value (probably got more) and Staal has more value than Kesler. You must be one of those dreamer that think Kesler will fetch us 3 x 1st round pick (or equivalent prospect).
Me_
I hear its Neal and Letang who are on the trade block. Van Neal Pouliot Pitts Kesler? In typical CDC fashion. A 1D becomes available and you bypass it. Want the Sedins to win a Cup, you get Letang. You want to make sure they're punished for the rest of their careers because of one atrocious season, you get Neal and Pouliot.
CanuckRow
With Mario.L will not let Crosby be traded, in an circumstance. Malkin being trade? More likely.
CrippledCanuck
I was on the Pittsburgh HF board and their fans were saying they wouldn't take Neal for evander Kane as peg would have to add more. So if that's what they think of Neal we wouldn't have a chance at Neal let alone geno unless it was Kesler ++++ for Neal
AriGold
I could see malkin traded to Edmonton for eberle, 3rd overall and another top prospect.. Leaves hall and rnh on a line and malkin and nail on a line.. Smart move for Edmonton as it might them a more desirable place to play for free agents.. Madness
PIT shouldn't trade Malkin.
Langdon Algur
I hear its Neal and Letang who are on the trade block. VanNealPouliot PittsKesler? If Letang is avilable we could use him way more than Neil. Letang would be missing the ellite PP QB we've been missing since Ehroff left. Baka
Pitts won't trade their core players and prospects for the Canucks spare parts. If they move one or a few it will only be because they are getting a monster return. Vancouver feels pressure to move Kesler because even with him they can't make the playoffs and he could always bolt when his contract expires if they don't turn things around plus as he ages his value only slips. Pittsburgh has all their core players in long contracts they are still young and are still a lock to make the playoffs. They certainly feel pressure to produce better results in the end but they aren't a bad situation where they will prematurely push someone out the door for nothing short of huge return. lol, Pittsburgh traded Staal for Sutter and Pouliot. Neal is comparable to Sutter in value (probably got more) and Staal has more value than Kesler. You must be one of those dreamer that think Kesler will fetch us 3 x 1st round pick (or equivalent prospect). How is Neal comparable to Sutter in value? Sutter even back then was a good but not great prospect. Neal is PPG player in Pittsburgh who has averaged around a 40 goal (in 82) pace his last 3 seasons. I agree with most of your post but that comparison is odd.
Down by the River
Neal impressed me less than Crosby this post-season.
Phil_314
No way Malkin goes, he and Crosby are the faces of the franchise. He also kept scoring when Sid wasn't. MAYBE Neal could be had, but without a doubt Malkin would be better with his running mate. Also, it'd be stupid to trade our center depth for another winger if it'll have to be Kes for Neal, when we have a bunch of wingers (Danny, Burr, Kass, Jensen, Higgins?) who can perform in top-6 roles, more or less, given that Danny and Burr rebound and Kass and Jensen keep progressing. If that happens we would have more scoring wingers. Without Kes, we'd be back to a one-line team (I don't trust Santo as the long-term 2nd line center). I'd rather trade Kes for Letang, as some have mentioned, then trade Garrison or Edler plus whatever to get another top-6 center (Edler+ for Spezza? Hope the chance of playing with Karlsson could make it happen). Move Booth, Hansen, etc. to make it happen. Danny - Hank - Jensen Burr - Spezza - Kassian Matthias - Horvat - Higgins Archie - Rich - Zalewski Garrison - Letang Hamhuis - Bieksa Stanton - Tanev
-AJ-
Malkin would be extremely pricey, both in Cap hit and trade value. It's unlikely anyone pays the price to get him.

Jiggs50
Neal could be had imo. If Kes wants out I'd do Kes Hansen Neal Pouliot 2nd
