grandmaster
How does this happen? I couldn't stand the guy and thought he was a terrible Canuck. He has somehow turned into a playoff hero?!?!?
VegasCanuck
Why did we trade him again? Thought the return was really on the low side when we did it! Damn I'm glad MG is gone!!!
BananaMash
He was my favorite player here for two seasons
William_Clarkson
Better line mates, more ice time, and I guess he's a playoff performer.
elvis15
Canucks Talk? And: he's playing with Briere. And: Good Job Dale Weise
Kryten
Daniel Briere. Dale is making a lot of his own success despite what my post implies, sometimes when the chemistry is there, a player can really shine. We shouldn't be blaming anyone, we should just be happy for Weise and move on.
grandmaster
Canucks Talk? And: he's playing with Briere. And: Good Job Dale Weise Didn't realize the other thread but it does deserve to be in the Canucks Talk because he is an ex Canuck and I referenced his play here
TheRussianRocket.
Yes, he's a playoff star and will win the Conn Smythe. Jokes aside he's found a home in Montreal. Glad for him.
VegasCanuck
I'm really good with making trades that improve the club (no matter who gets moved), but this one proves once again that MG was completely out of his element when it came to making trades! higgyfan
He's skating with a team that can keep up with him
Nuxfanabroad
Speed, grit & character are a nice combination in a player. On these boards, I recollect so many snide, derisive shots taken at this guy..found that frustrating. We all deserve to sit out & observe his PO excellence, so far. Or comments about his appearance? Bloody juvenile. On TSN they showed a pic of his Missus..my word. Better than any of us will dream of-believe that. Cheerin for ya, Wheeze-go all the way, baby! Mathew Barzal
His speed fits Montreals system like a glove, couple that with playing with one of the clutchest playoff performers in recent memory and you have the perfect environment for Weise to excel. Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
Instead of trying to deal with the players he had, Torts burned away his last chance as a coach. I don't blame Gillis for this trade. Weise was unhappy with his situation and he's proving himself right via his play.
Lychees
He never had the chance to play here as both AV and Torts didn't really utilize the 4th line as they should have. That and Briere as a 4th line center is ridonk depth wise, but Weise is also making the best of his situation and he's been rewarded heavily because of it. I'm still mad we traded him and kept Sestito :\ he was one of our better plugs
almo89
Weise was never bad here. He had some really nice wheels for a 4th liner. Did what he was asked here in limited minutes. The Habs actually use their 4th line and he's playing with Prust and Briere. It's a 4th line that has a mixture of skill, physicality and speed. Habs 4th line is outclassing Bruins 4th line
I.Am.Ironman
I am more happy for Weise and his current, possibly temporary, success. That being said if he was playing with a center with the abilities of Danny Briere, he would have enjoyed success in Vancouver. Unfortunately, our 4th line got 5 mins a game and wasn't at all skilled. Teams need character guys like Weise to succeed, that being said we don't know what went on behind closed door. We are lucky players who fill a similar void aren't all that hard to come by in comparison to other positions
surtur
I liked him and always thought of him as a future 3rd liner yet he got shafted to only a couple min a game even when our stars couldn't get out of our own zone for 30 games straight ..... oh well he is on a good team and he is showing what he can do an i am happy for him . Robongo
The move was a head scratcher, even at the time. Greasy Weisey always had upside as a decent third liner but had it out with Torts.
PhillipBlunt
Weise was good. However he was the victim of the same archaic coach twice. Good on ya, Dale.
smithers joe
when they gave him #22, he thought that he needed to play like daniel. dale's speed fits into montreal's team speed..... MG wanted a speedy team....now most of our speed is gone.....booth and kesler next.....
