Why I hate Milan Lucic

Recommended Posts

There are a lot of hockey players that are a holes but Milan Lucic is a cut above others. From the spearing other guys, to almost killing Ryan Miller a few years back to being one of the biggest dbags in Vancouver, there is a lot to hate.

I think the biggest thing which seperates Lucic from the rest is his sense of moral superiority. I post significantly less than I used to but for those of you that knew me , you know I can be an a hole at the best of times but I don't pretend to be otherwise. I hate people who pretend to be what there not. As much as a guy like Brad Marchand pisses me off at the best of times he admits to being a pest and he embraces that role to it's fullest extent.

For example, after the game tonight he got asked a question about calls in the game and his response was the following.

Marchand says he dug himself into the hole that has led him to getting reputation calls. Good on him. That's correct.

Thats why I may hate his actions and may not be a fan of him as a player but I still respect the guy. However Lucic is different. Lucic pretends to be classy and puts up a shield where he acts with a sense of moral superiority yet we all see the diving, the blatant cheap shots to the groin region and the brazen attempts to injure players in a cheap manner.

Tonight, he was up to his same facade again. He criticized Dale Weise for mentioning the fact that Lucic said some unclassy things to him and Alexi Emelin and called Weise out for not leaving it on the ice.

For those of you wondering what Lucic had to say, here is a tweet from Bruce Arthur.

As @aaronward_nhl said, Milan Lucic to Dale Weise in the handshake line: "I'm going to ???? kill you next year."

Lucic criticizes Weise for not leaving it on the ice yet he is making threats to a player.

But then again, this is so Lucic. Lets go back 5 months ago to the night of the Canucks Boston game in Vancouver. Lucic said he was embarrassed for the city of Vancouver and was tired of defending it after this incident.

Then suddenly rumors start leaking that the other man in the video was a gang member and apparently Lucic and his boys were not playing nice.. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not or if the rumors are true but suddenly Lucic was apologizing for his comments.

This sequence of Lucic trying to take a moral high ground and then having egg on his face occurs time and time again yet he never learns. The moral superiority which Milan Lucic holds is the reason why I hate him.

Let me count the ways.

Wouldn't surprise me I learned some of their clowns had roid rage.

And what a goof to say anything but "congratulations" or "good luck" at the handshake. Absolutely disgusting.

There are a lot of interesting stories about him and his boys. I will leave it at that.

Would love him on the Canucks.

Me too. He can act like a caveman, but he can play solid hockey and you can tell from his post-game interview (as embarrassing as it may be) that it kills him inside when he doesn't win, which this organization could use.

I imagine people's hearts would change if Lucic was to sign with the Canucks one day…after all, this city considered Bertuzzi a hero.

His temper is beyond ridiculous. If he could calm himself down more and just get under other players skin by just using his words and his hits instead of his fists he would be a much better player.

Personally, if I was Subban or Weise or any of the Habs I would have blown kisses to him and told him I love you and I know from personal experience that works with guys with a temper haha that would spark him to the nines.

Don't even need to make it a hypothetical.

He was loved here when he played for the GIants. Was arguably the most popular player on the team. Was even considered as the Giants best player of all time in a Giants sponsored fan vote for their 10th year anniversary.

And guess what, he played the exact same style back then as he plays now.

Ending somebody's career is pretty damn drastic, and as classless as he is, why do you feel the need to stoop to his level? You're being beyond classless.

Ignore Heffy, imagining Bruins players getting hurt is they only way he can get aroused anymore.

Lol at almost killing Miller?

Weren't we the same fans who applauded and supported Bertuzzi who ended Steve Moore's career?

I always thought Ryan Miller seem like a stubborn a-hole. I mean, he did threw his own teammate under the bus. He totally deserved to get ran over by Lucic.

LOL that is so far from the truth.

He wasn't throwing the cheapshots he is now. Back then he had integrity. Him and his boys were not being idiots either.

He also wasn't lying, whining and crying about everything.

But judging by the level of defense you are showing towards him, you are either related to the family or know him. Not trying to put you down because of it but this is apparent.
