TheRussianRocket.
To Minnesota: Alex Edler To Vancouver: Charlie Coyle, Marco Scandella - Minny needs improvement on their blueline. A guy the calibre of Edler alongside Suter would help tremendously. Elder gets a chance to win and stay in the West. Canucks add a solid young roster forward in Coyle who the Wild can live without and a young dman replacement in Scandella. To Washington: Chris Higgins, Jannik Hansen To Vancouver: Troy Brouwer - Caps add an extra winger which they need to match the excess of centres they have and vise versa Nucks lose 2 similar wingers which are redundant in return for one versatile winger. *for the NTC police let's assume the players waive*Signings Meszaros 4x4M/4.5M. Elliott 2x2.5M. Kassian 2x2M. Tanev 3x2.75M. Weber 1x900K. Veteran team with talented youth all around. Coyle is a centre/right winger and adds depth down the middle incase of injuries. Brouwer can do it all especially the dirty work, make space for others and Kassian can dish them out or snipe with Kesler alongside. 3rd line has a veteran, rookie, young NHLer and 4th line is practically another second 3rd line. 4 solid lines to roll. ROSTER: Sedin - Sedin - Jensen Brouwer - Kesler - Kassian Burrows - Horvat - Coyle Booth - Richardson - Matthias Sestito Hamhuis - Bieksa Meszaros - Tanev Garrison - Scandella Stanton - Weber Elliott Lack ...so what do you guys think? Value fair here and does it make sense for all parties involved :/
Plum
I don't agree with getting rid of BOTH Higgins and Hansen, I would keep Higgins. He is a solid 2/3 line winger. I hope Minnesota does that deal but Coyle is a really promising prospect.

I hope Minnesota does that deal but Coyle is a really promising prospect. Well we have Burrows for 4 more years lol and Brouwer. Keeping one of Higgy or Hansen would just take away a spot from the kids and imo do more harm than good. And Coyle is good but not great. Has 2nd line potential and at tops a real good 2nd liner. A Kassian like player in that he's a PF but not the traditional style like Kassian is. Moreso a Jeff Carter version where he uses his smarts and skills over physicality. euphoria/
Minny won't have the cap, especially if they sign Vanek. I don't really get the second trade. First off, why would we trade our arguably most consistent/best forward of this past year? Secondly, why would the Caps trade one of their best forwards for two marginally worse players? It doesn't make much sense for them at all.
Piggy Bank
Niskanen = way more on market
elvis15
Yeah, I don't get the second one. The first I haven't even looked at their cap, nor if Edler would waive, but I'm not sure they do that deal. Then there's the laughable prospect that Niskanen signs with us for as little as that, same with Elliot (and he's starting? we put Markstrom through waivers?) to an extent. TheRussianRocket.
Second one isn't that bad is it? Higgins is better offensively than Brouwer. Brouwer is a 3rd/2nd liner on Washington. And then Hansen makes up for the grit and toughness with the loss of Troy. And wrote Niskanen/Meszaros. Guess it's safe to say Niskanen won't sign for that so will edit it and Elliott will, just look at him in St.Louis....if it makes it any better $2.5/$3 can be given too. 2inthecup
Like Coyle a lot, I would even look at deal with Kesler for Coyle and Nino + Don't like the second one at all, I've always liked Higgins and he is one of our most consistent scorers. Also i would think Hansen is going to have serious bounce back year under a new coach.... At thebeginningof the year his contract looked like a bargain and he was consistently improving every year. JeremyCuddles
No to Higs. Love that guy. He would make a stellar 3rd liner.
Kevo882
Definitely agree with the signing of Elliot as Lack's experienced back-up/mentor. He would be my top choice for that role.

TheRussianRocket.
Coyle>Edler Higgins>Brouwer Well I agree, can't really compare Coyle to Edler as they play 2 diff positions. However although Coyle is a good prospect, in this sense I think Edler> cause Minny needs D help. Doing so they gain what they lack and we gain a young roster player which we lack. Both teams give to get and makes sense imo.
